For the first name, what about Dee-oh-gee?

Emphasis on the "oh."

How iroic, I had a drug detection (sniffer) dog for my work to detect drugs in ther workplace, HIS hame was Brandy, trained at the MS state pen and when he was just a pup he knoced over a bottle of brandy and licked it up, got drunk as a skunk, the trainer had in the training room, his name was Gus but after that, he was named Brandy. That ole dog found a lot of dope over his 10 year life span, he ruined a lot days for a lot of folks. Brought back memories.

I have a friend who is stationed in Johannesburg, South Africa for the State Dept. He and his wife and family have been there for two years, he was just transferred to Hong Kong. He says he was never so happy to leave a country as when they flew out of SA. So corrupt and so dangerous. The apartment complex they lived in was surrounded by barbed wire and armed guards, 24/7. His wife couldn't go out by herself or even with the kids in the car, there are too many carjackings, and the carjackers usually beat, rape, and then kill the victims. Horrible place to be right now.

after all, you DO have to eat lunch that last day of your trip,

Yes, but the question will center around the modality of how lunch is taken.

She does not "ride well," so to speak, and may just want to get home as quickly as possible that day. It may be she will just want a "get it and go" lunch (one of the things I have to do is to check and see where we will be in the 11-1 time frame). After a long road trip that she was gracious enough to agree to in the first place, I feel I need to be particularly sensitive to that point.

We'll see.

OUR resident keeps on keeping on and just drive the 'other side' crazy. This I am sure he doesn't fo all these good things to spite them, its from his heart. You knw, Christian people sometimes do get angry so they had better look out, I suspect the last thing they want to do is get W mad at them. Off ot Kmart to get coffee.

Did you hear Jim Angle report that disgruntled CEO's have been calling the White House complaining about how hard it will be to write out the justification for their compensation, because the shareholders won't understand?

The President has told them it will be a "useful exercise."

HAR!

The President has told them it will be a "useful exercise."

I would suggest then, that these whinny CEO's get off their butts and get busy...They DO NOT want to come face-to-face with a POed Texan, who also happens to be the President of the U.S. !!

And if the shareholders don't "understand" their justification of these huge compensation packages, it could just be that they're not buyin' the BS anymore...

Well, the President and his speech shot some holes in the boat the Dems are trying to float, that's for sure,

And as for the CEOs criticizing the speech, that's probably making the WH extremely happy! More ammunition taken away from the Dems...

The President has told them it will be a "useful exercise."

Yes, it is. In more ways than one.

CEO's get paid exactly what their respective worth is, when viewed by the company - no more, no less.

But who determines that worth? In a publicly-owned corporation, that would be the collective stockholders.

Most corporations have their largest shareholders on the "board," but these stockholders still tend to be a small minority of the total stock outstanding.

Basically, the President has called for a stockholder revolt in large corporations, and he is suggesting the revolt should take the following form:

1. If you don't understand why the CEO is getting paid what he is, dump the stock.

2. If you understand why the CEO is getting paid what he is and you don't agree, dump the stock.

3. If your CEO wants a raise, and you don't understand why, dump the stock.

4. Or in the alternative to items 1 through 3, vote the Chairman of the Board out of his position unless the CEO is removed.

In other words - be citizens, not spectators.

When I retired I cashed in all of my stocks and shoeboxed some and put some in the bank. I feel safe as a babe in the crib. I know, some will say this is wrong, I never have had trust in brokers, they lie. I ain't gonna take it with me anyhow when I die.

Since I have come to know you, I've come to realize you are one of the strongest, sweetest ... FOCUSED, kindest and sincere people I have ever been *blessed* to meet.

Oh ... one more thing...

President
George

Bush ...

Then there's new little strawberries kissed by the early morning dew ... duct tape and lavender bubble bath ...

How sweet of you. Thank you.

It is so obvious what the dems are doing. Eight long years..nothing done, but President Bush comes along and all of a sudden the dems get righteous. Jerks...
