And certainly check the information on the port before you leave the ship.
You have a nitwit phone, use it for something beyond duck faces.
There’s far too much that can “go wrong” on a cruise. No thank you!
When we went to an all inclusive resort in Jamaica for our honeymoon 37 years ago they warned us about venturing off the resort grounds unescorted. Same trip, they were having a toga party on the beach, it was late, everyone was drunk, the reggae band was higher than a kite, and they started sing a song with a chorus of “Kill de white mon, I say kill de white mon.” The drunk white couples were dancing to it...they had no clue. I was still pretty sober. I noticed that the band members are smiling at each other. Next thing you know security is standing on either side of the band. At first, I didn’t know if this is a good thing or bad thing, then I noticed that the band members are subtly shaking their heads at each other. I take the wife by the hand and make tracks for the room.
I have no idea if something really bad was going to happen and security stopped it, or if security just stopped them from singing racist lyrics, but it creeped me out for the rest of our vacation. I made sure to NEVER be alone with a native Jamaican for the rest of the trip.
Annnnnd that’s why I don’t get off the boat.
