Human evil will never allow government to stay limited. A fundamentally predatory, destructive, conquering species cannot stay limited in power structures i.e. government. I know rhe political and economic theory of limited government, and like Communism or socialism, it simply cannot survive in the long run. Proof - American and European history circa 1700 to present.
I outlined what are legitimate functions of the gov’t. I did not judge how well they are doing w/r to those functions. You don’t need to overhaul the Constitution. A Republic can only survive with an informed voting public, which we do not have. People know leaders are corrupt and doing a horrible job of running the gov’t, but they continue to put the same people back in office. An ill-informed voting body gets what they voted for, and the US is ill-informed on what its representatives are doing.

You are using different definitions for “causes”.
The third statement is factually accurate by any definition.
The first two statements are statistical—that means they apply to some people and not others.
My grandmother smoked one cigarette every day after dinner—and lived to be 106—and never had lung cancer.
I often wonder what would happen if the President held a press conference and announced an Executive Order that said:
Starting tomorrow, all budgets are cut by 10%. I expect each agency to continue to provide the same or better service than before the cut. If you cannot do so, I will find someone to replace you who can. Have a nice day."
I believe there is more than 10% slop in the budget and gov't could be more efficient if they had to be so. As it is, there is no penalty to spending other peoples' money inefficiently and, until they are held accountable by an informed electorate, the status quo will not change.
How much more clear do you want?

Tha’s why libertarianism was the answer. No handouts and taxation at near-zero level. It’s better people die of starvation than man loses his liberty. We have this strange idea that “everyone should make it” - evolution says otherwise. The weak MUST be eliminated by a free market or the entire society is doomed.
There is no right to life except at your own expense. The Social Darwinists were correct, and the welfare state - based on Christian charity - has doomed us all. Altruism is the greatest evil, Im shocked how prescient Ayn Rand was.
