A few years back there were car stereos that had a thin removable front plate so you could take that out when it was parked.
That way the stereo was useless without the front plate.
So, no one would break in your car to steal it.

A Dunkin Donuts/Baskin Robbin (same corporate owner) store near me had its air conditioning plumbing burglarized by copper thieves last summer. The damage they caused was many times the price of the copper. This is insanity. The metal dealers have to know that materials were stolen.

The charger interfaces themselves are likely g.p.s. enabled. So maybe tracked when they are used elsewhere.

I’d forgotten about that “solution.”

Maybe we need removable charging station cables kept under lock and key by an attendant. You would have to put down a $1,000 deposit on your credit card to use the cables for a couple of hours. Or we could try BYOC — “bring your own cables.”

To make sure we do not disadvantage EVs, all gasoline pumps would be required to keep their hoses under lock and key as well. You would need to put down a $1,000 deposit to use them to fill your car. Or you could BYOH.

There are so many possible solutions!

“They are taking the metal and they are turning it in for monetary gain. Unfortunately, the amount of money they are going in is nominal. It’s about ten dollars,” said Strang.

So crack is now less expensive than eggs?

Speaking of MLK statues—I wrote a short story on the topic over twenty years ago and posted it here:

“This is in Seattle, so NO crime is being committed.”

With our luck this will be the ONE CRIME that does get prosecuted there.

One of the biggest issues with charging EVs is they is not a standardized charging plug. Teslas, Fords, Nissans, etc all have their unique plug.
This is one thing Europe is ahead on. They made all the charges the same plug.

Europe has done the same thing with phone chargers. I’m sick of a drawer full of cables with eight different plugs and another eight transformers with different voltages.

LOL!

I hope they loot every charging station everywhere.

I am fine with EV’s. I just want the industry to be ground to a halt to cause chaos.

AND it will inordinately impact liberals.

They are taking the metal and they are turning it in for monetary gain...

And here I was, thinking they were using it to wire the homeless drug encampments for electricity.
