And hoping no stray voltage is heading to ground at the moment.
Dead Mexicans have been found here before.

Make it illegal to buy copper without photo ID (?}

These dumbasses will spend hours to destroy thousands of dollars of assets to get a few dollars of copper.

Make it illegal to buy copper this way?

They should be rewarded for their creativity. Such delicious irony.

...copper is very valuable...

Copper is moderately valuable. Just enough to attract the maggots of society.

This is in Seattle, so now crime is being committed.

Q: What did progressives use for light, before candles?
A: Electricity.

And if electricity had just been discovered today they would try to ban it.

Do you or anyone else have an idea how much ore has to be pulled from the ground to make the battery for one Tesla?

I am asking the question. I do not know.

I would like to have that statistic in my mind whenever I talk to someone why EVs are so incredibly bad for the environment.

It’s a LOT easier than stealing a couple gallons of gasoline to sell at a flea market.

Another win for ICE.

There was a story not too recently where some idiot tried to take copper from an active charging station. The amount of voltage going through those things is substantial. If they don’t know what they’re doing, it’s lights out pretty damn quick.

It’s an old story. About 40 years ago, thieves smashed our brand new car’s dashboard to bits to yank out the stereo unit that they probably sold for $5 or $10. The repair cost was $1,500 back in 1983.

There are old copper thieves and there are bold copper thieves, but there are no old bold copper thieves.
