Lots of people in the U.S. care about soccer. It is, of course, very parochial to minimize the popularity of soccer in the United States but I’m guessing there as many soccer fields in the U.S. as there are baseball diamonds!
The only World Cup game I will sort of pay attention to is France v England tomorrow because of the long rivalry between those two nations. Will be interested to see if London or Paris will be filled with riots and fires tomorrow night!
I was able to tune in and watch starting around the 83rd minute of the match the score was zero. What a fun game!

It’s kind of ridiculous that these guys run around the pitch for over two hours, only to be decided by a few kicks at the end.

Oh you should have heard him after the first match complaining about the off-sides calls and the goals taken away.
I have very little understanding of Soccer. I didn’t know you could be offsides. And a lot of these guys double dribble and carry over but the refs don’t call those either.
