People think The Police was Sting’s band, because he was the frontman. But it was actually Stewart Copeland’s band.

I have fond memories of seeing Buddy Rich performing live in a small club in Sioux Falls, SD. Sad to say it was 50 years ago. What a drummer. We had Louie Bellson as a "guest" drummer in our high school dance band, I got a pair of his drum sticks, pretty cool back then.

I was mostly a tenor and baritone player, but it was fun to wail on an alto once in a while.

But it was actually Stewart Copeland’s band. And apparently, he got on Sting's nerves.

I actually liked the few songs Stewart wrote for The Police, they were actually pretty funny, Like “On Any Other Day”
My wife has burned the scrambled eggs
The dog just bit my leg
My teenage daughter ran away
My fine young son has turned out gay
And it would be okay on any other day

Stewart Copeland probably influenced more drummers than any other drummer, since the 80s.

This was our band leader, they don't make them like this anymore: https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/timesunion-albany/name/henry-carr-obituary?id=5008227 and his band program was regarded as one of New York State's finest. Many notable guest artists came to play with his C.C.H.S. Band on their annual Spring concerts during the '60s and '70s. Among them, Clark Terry, Louie Bellson, Rafael Mendez, Warren Covington, Urbie Green, James Burke, Ed Shaughnessy, and Doc Severinsen (twice).

Yeah, man. I got in trouble a few times in that environment, because I don’t tolerate laziness.
