so what was the opensource code project they used to build codex?
I’d like to see it.
For you patriot warriors who speak geek, if there is one link you click to this year and next, make sure it’s this one:
And here’s the adjoining chat room:
“Microsoft loves open source.”????????................
Given that not everyone has Telegram, care to explain what those links are supposed to tell me?
What a bunch of communists!
It is open source....you can use it for anything you want.
People have incorporated open source code into their projects and used it for their business needs, thereby, making money from it.
Is there some pledge by everyone with access to open source material not to use it for something that makes money?
Hell, even governments have taken open source code and used it for surveillance, tracking hackers, etc.
But I am sure these commie coders are just fine with that.
Microsoft likes it more than Apple at least.
“I’m sorry Dave, I’m afraid I can’t let you invoke that method.”
I did not know that but could have predicted the outcome. Bye bye github.
Is GitLab an alternative to Github? I own that stock.
Communists are fine with taking other people’s code - they just don’t want any capitalists using their own. :)
I guess this Copilot will eventually spew out some of my old code.
Serves ‘em right!
P
MS is stealing others' code without giving credit.
You know, like we do here on FR--we give credit to the proper authors/sources/websites/etc.
It is quite frowned upon here to plagiarize/steal columns and ideas.
Guess what. Programmers are obsolete. Move on.
Microsoft stole DOS (without question copied CP/M’s interface at the least) and bought innovative technologies to either destroy or incorporate in their OS. They really are a monster. LOL
Even Elon Musk uses ‘open source’ for his Star Link ... and then violates the open source protocol and hides most of its code. To use any flavor of linux an outfit must agree to ‘open source’ it all. Most outfits - NOT doing that.
No. They are not "stealing" anything. It is open-source code, meaning anyone can use it without need for attribution.
On thing most notable out-of-the-bx on Star Link. The receiver is half router. The user is unable to change the router IP from 192.168.1.1 to anything else.
Direct violation of open coding rules.
