“If you drink 2 beers a day for 10 years, it is as bad as 10 years of aging.”
Au contraire...it adds years to your life just like days spent fishing!😎

Well you see, Norm, it’s like this…
A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the heard is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first.
This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members.
In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells.
Now, as we know, excessive intake of alcohol kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first.
In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster more efficient machine.
And that, Norm, is why you always feel smarter after a few beers.

According to these formulas and what we did in my late teens, I should have the brain of someone 150 years old.
To: Red Badger
It shouldn't be a surprise to learn that regular consumption of even small quantities of alcohol...or drugs...would do at least *some* damage.

An important number is missing from this analysis.
Four units of alcohol a day over what period of time?
One year? Two years? Ten years? 30 Years? 50 years?
It is an extremely important number.
To: marktwain
Apparently it’s more the number of drinks added in a day that is exponentially damaging rather than the length of time per se. So when you go from abstention to half a beer it isn’t so bad but from half to one, 2 years damage. Two to three, 3.5 years etc. In other words there may be safe amounts but basically the less the better.

Well, I only allow myself to drink 1 beer per day.
I’m working on the month of June 2047.
