The students mental health will be improved by giving that money to the Democrat Party Organized Crime Syndicate so their thugs can buy condos in Kauai.

Dorchester has been mixed for about 30-40 years I understand. Both Dorchester and Roxbury are within the city limits of Boston.

I go back a really long way and I would have said Dorchester was Roxbury redux. Course if you go far enough back everything was probably Irish at some point...

Like one of those falls on the basketball court ir in professional wrestling. The kid punches her and she is surprised but has the presence of mind to drop to the floor and be unconscious. Then she lies still there for a minute and then is lethargic and disoriented when she decides that lying still is not doing enough for her case. It is obvious from her face that her body mass is enough that a one pound fist is not going to contain enough force moving at the punching speed of a 16-year-old ( hyphens are appropriate here but not it I say she is 16 years old. ) to knock her down unless said assailant is pretty big herself which would not surprise me. Lots of food going around these days.

2% Passed at Least One AP® Exam
Wow, I guess "inclusion" doesn't include academic success.
It's quite a journey to look through the pathetic results of Boston Public schools:
High Schools in Boston Public Schools District(USNews): At least at "Another Course to College" high school in Hyde Park, 11% of students actually passed at least one AP Exam. It has 8.5% whites, 46% blacks and 42% Latin. Sure beats William McKinley school which doesn't even offer AP exams and only 17% graduate (89% black & hispanic). The top public high school in Mass is the "Boston Latin School" where 96% pass at least one AP exam and the racial mix is 46.8% white, 28.6% asian, 12.5% hispanic and 7.5% black.
Compare that to Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, a Fairfax, VA school (known around here as "TJ"), US News' no. 1 ranked public high school in the country as of 2020 school year: 20.6% white, 70.2% asian, 2.4% hispanic and 1.9% black. 100% of students there passed at least one AP exam.
That'll be out the window, because the diversity czars in FCPS, whose number one priority over the past few years has been to remove the names of Confederates from its schools, went to work on "inclusion" at TJ: this Fall's incoming Freshman class will is 7.1% black, 11.3% hispanic and only 54.4% asian (whites are up to 22.4%). See:

TJHSST Offers Admission to 550 Students; Broadens Access to Students Who Have an Aptitude for STEM (FCPS) Any guesses on when "Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology" becomes the "Sally Hemmings School for Science, Technology and Inclusion"?

When it comes to feral cats, there is no getting the wild out of them completely. Its impossible really. The brains are wired a certain way. Gotta imprint on them when they’re young to stand a chance.

Btw, TJ parents didn't go without a fight :
Black PTA boss at Fairfax magnet school resigns, blames ‘progressive, hard-left’ mindset This guy is heroic. He led a parent group that opposed CRT, the COVID shutdown, mask mandates, and the dumbing down of admissions standards. In his resignation letter, he wrote,
"And finally, I refuse to be silenced by education activists who believe, as does The Washington Post and certain politicians, that parents have no role in the education of their children.”

Boston Latin is maybe the first public school and first exam school in the country. Benjamin Franklin went there. So did both Samuel Adams and John Hancock, who the British regulars were sent to arrest and were fired upon. Joseph Kennedy, father or the President went there. He was in the bottom 1/3rd of his class, but got into Harvard, presumably on political connections.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

Dorchester guy here. This school is not in the Irish sector. 10 or so years ago I was talking to an old acquaintance at a party. He is a white guy, a plumber, who lived in Dorchester at the time. I asked him about the neighborhood, and he replied, "I don't live on the lootin' and shootin' side of town."
