I never succumbed to the urge to join Twitter, but I just got through joining Parler. I did so using their web site and not through the Apple store or any other secondary party. I did recently join Facebook, but that is about to be tossed also. Facebook, along with Apple, Google, Twitter and probably others that I am not affiliated with are against too many things that I am for, and they are for too many things that I am against. Facebook places no value in a single Christian principle that I cherish, and all Christians should be wary of associating with them even if it cramps their ability to keep everyone informed about how many times they go to the bathroom daily. That old cliche’, “You can’t be a little bit pregnant,” is so valid. Facebook is inherently evil, and Jeff Zuckerburg is evil personified.
Do not support big Banks - stop/extremely limit your use of credit cards
The Amazons, Google etc. cannot profit from you if they cannot sell your info.

As a matter of sheer self-defence: ditch the dollar, aka ‘the Treasury note’ as a means of storing wealth.
The dollar was always a terrible store of wealth, but it’s going to take a nose dive under a Marxist government.
I recommend buying precious metals (Gold & Silver). Buy hold-in-your-hand coins and bullion, and also bullion stored overseas. NO ETFs and NO coins or bars stored in banks.
There are other stores of wealth (and wise FReepers will now tell you about them). However none are so fungible as Gold and Silver.

You have a choice of 3 operating systems: Apple, Google, and some largely unused offering from Microsoft - you know your vaccination and climate change friend. Don’t know if you can get a Huawei phone and system in the US, but then the CCP would be your best friend.

There are up and coming Linux phone and tablet devices that one can turn to. If you’re like me, I use my phone for calling folks, texting folks, surfing the web, and such. I don’t play games or use any apps that don’t have web access alternatives. If that’s all you do, take a look. The platform is far more secure and far more private. Best of all, the devices are a lot cheaper.
PinePhone is one device. There are others.
Or, if you had the ability, get an account in a non-US bank and use the debit card for that account. Yes, I am advocating breaking US law.
