Good morning.

I’ve been up since about midnight-thirty, and have had my shower, written to Charlie, put the casserole I made yesterday into baggies and then in the freezer, and I’m about ready to take out the trash and bring in the water from the truck. Then I’ll see how I feel and take it from there.

Will you have access to WiFi while you’re gone?

Probably not. In the past, I’ve found the Scout camp to be something of a black hole, interwebs-wise. I turn off my phone unless I’m using it to take pictures of mushrooms.

When you talk of going camping, I recall the absolute beauty of the places we spent years as campground hosts. The hard part of course, was having a son in the army.

But every time you talk of going camping, I envy you!

Our local scout camp is not especially scenic, but it’s outdoors. I’m looking forward to this campout especially because I’m not in charge of anything except Kathleen. There’s even another environmental educator - with a certification and everything, not just copies of “Common Forest Trees” and “Pond Life.”
