FRiends, I am requesting your prayers for my brother. He was undergoing brain surgery yesterday during which he suffered a stroke. He is intubated and in ICU in very serious condition. Thank you.

My deepest appreciation to all of you for your prayers and good wishes for my brother. I’m always so impressed by the way FReepers come together to offer spiritual support to each other!
While I’m not on-site with him, I’m glad to report that he is off the ventilator. However, as of this morning he was only able to communicate with a right-handed thumbs-up or down and weak hand squeeze. Attempts at speech are just groans. His left side is completely out, so far. The real irony is that, when the stroke occurred, he was undergoing deep-brain-stimulation surgery for his Parkinson’s Disease. So the surgery that was supposed to make him “better” has (for now) actually made things worse! He is only 59 yrs old and has myriad other physical/psychological health issues.
FRiends, I’m so grateful for your response. May I ask that you continue to include “workerbee’s brother” in your prayers.

Thanks for the update. The ups and downs with medical conditions are hard to take. Prayers continue for your brother and for his medical team. May they be led and guided.
Awwww. One step at a time. I’m hoping that the continuous monitoring yields positive, measurable steps in the right direction. Praying for you both.
Thanks for the news. Wish it could be better but there is obviously some improvement by going off the ventilator.

You’ve got it workerbee, and you may just be surprised at how well he might do once the pain subsides and he heals up a bit.

Very good news that your brother is awake and alert. Continuing prayers for strength and perseverance. Once your brother recovers from this acute phase, physical, speech and occupational therapy can do amazing things to help regain activities of daily living and productivity.

Thank you WorkerBee’s brother is off the ventilator and, and he is able to make some communication with his hands.
May HOLY SPIRIT flow through every cell of his brother’s body. Heal the broken cells, nerves, muscles. Cleanse him, and make him whole.
We stand in agreement with Your mighty Promise. “By CHRIST’S stripes we were healed.” It was already taken care of at the cross. JESUS’ gives the victory.
In JESUS’ Name we pray. AMEN.
