At a Sunday news conference, Illinois State Rep. LaShawn K. Ford (D), along with local leaders, called on the state's Board of Education to "abolish history classes in Illinois schools" because, he said, "current school history teaching leads to white privilege and a racist society."
A news release distributed before the event claimed that "current history teaching practices overlook the contributions by Women and members of the Black, Jewish, LGBTQ communities and other groups."
The lawmaker demanded history classes in the state immediately cease and remain abolished "until appropriate alternatives are developed."
Concerned that current school history teaching leads to white privilege and a racist society, state Rep. La Shawn K. Ford, D-Chicago, will join local leaders today at noon at the Robert Crown Center in Evanston to call on the state to stop its current history teaching practices until appropriate alternatives are developed.
"When it comes to teaching history in Illinois, we need to end the miseducation of Illinoisans," Ford said. "I'm calling on the Illinois State Board of Education and local school districts to take immediate action by removing current history books and curriculum practices that unfairly communicate our history. Until a suitable alternative is developed, we should instead devote greater attention toward civics and ensuring students understand our democratic processes and how they can be involved. I'm also alarmed that people continue to display symbols of hate, such as the recent display of the Confederate flag in Evanston."

How about Black people quit shooting one another. That sounds like a cheap, easy solution.
How did such hate of our country and our founding principles become so widespread? How come our Republican leaders have done so little to prevent the emergence of the current intolerable situation?

The Jewish contributions aren’t easy to overlook — unless you’re leaving out large chunks of the history of science and technology, the Nobel Prizes, etc.
Does that include the mandatory LGBTQ history unit?

Its hard to believe sensible black people are not outraged by this.
These idiots are destroying public education. I may send my kids to a private school, or I may choose to pull them out of schools entirely and homeschool, or join a co-op. AND given what we have seen since March, the most involved and intelligent parents will do exactly that.
And who then, will remain in the public school system? Those least able or willing to leave. Combine that with ridiculous political teachers and administrators, and those kids who remain will be cast into a pit.
The level of pure STOOOOPID on the Left is difficult to fathom...except when viewed through the lense of what Communists do. They destroy and tear down EVERYTHING from the past in order to re-create society according to their own goals. That is the only way that they can obtain and keep power. We are being set up - not terribly subtly, either - for a Communist takeover. BLM is a Marxist organization, as are many other so-called “good causes” (like the ACLU), and they are being given extraordinary moral authority by those pulling the strings from behind the curtain. The American people had better wake TF up, or we’re going to end up like Russia did in 1917, with a full-blown revolution on our hands.
They've got that covered. Educate them and they will be targeted for being educated.

Heck the most common history book in the world has my gran-Gran Pa in it.
And we were pretty instrumental in a small device that blew up in Japan 75 or so years ago today.
