Good News: Dr. Scott Atlas Added to Coronavirus Task Force

by Rush Limbaugh - Aug 10,2020

FTA
RUSH: It looks like Sweden is over the COVID-19 circumstance. And if that’s the case, then it portends good news for the rest of the world. Scott Atlas is now part of the coronavirus task force meeting with the president. And he is countering Fauci. I have to tell you something, folks, just to show you how pervasive this is.

You know, I read tech blogs. It’s my hobby. There are a couple of them that literally treat Fauci as a deity. Whatever Fauci says is the lead item, and it’s never questioned. It is always amplified. It is always reported as though there can be no question about it. These are young kids in their late twenties, early thirties, that populate these blogs and do most of the writing. And it’s scary how sycophantic they are.

Trump did recognize Dr Atlas at the presser.

JOLTS: Job Openings Rose More than Expected in June

FTA
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) report on job openings and labor turnover (JOLTS) showed openings rose more than expected to 5.9 million in June. Hires decreased to 6.7 million, though still came in at the second highest level ever recorded.

Forecasts for job openings ranged from a low of 4.9 million to 5.5 million. The consensus forecast was just 5.29 million.

Quits and total separations also rose, however. Total separations rose to 4.8 million. Within separations, the quits rate rose to 1.9% while the layoffs and discharges rate was unchanged at 1.4%.

The BLS stated those gains are the result of a limited resumption of economic activity following the efforts to “slow the spread” of coronavirus (COVID-19) in March and April.

This article and accompanying chart are being updated.

Trump claims to have the right to issue an EO on mail in voting, but hasn’t signed one yet as far as I know.

Four years of the Master Troller throwing his lines out and the suckers are still biting!

Seattle City Council approves plan to defund police department, slashes jobs and salariesThe mayor and police chief urged city council members to slow down discussions about the budget

By Barnini Chakraborty

FTA
The Seattle City Council voted Monday to move forward with a controversial proposal that would begin the process of defunding the police department.

The 7-1 vote comes despite objections from the city’s police chief, mayor and the Seattle Police Officers’ Guild.

The plan would ultimately slash funding to the department but not the 50% some had sought. Seattle currently has around 1,400 police officers, and the current plan would see about 100 cut. It was also cut the police department’s $400 million budget by about $3 million, according to KOMO.

Councilmember Kshama Sawant was the sole “no” vote because she felt the proposals didn’t go far enough, while Debora Juarez abstained, according to MyNorthWest.com.

The council reviewed a final set of amendments Monday before the vote, which included reducing the police department by up to 100 officers through layoffs and attrition as well as cutting the $285,000 annual salary of the Police Chief Carmen Best and other top officers. Best is the city’s first Black police chief and the pay cut would put her salary well below her White predecessor.

The council’s plan also removes officers from a team that dismantles homeless camps.

The move to defund the city’s Navigation Team, and redirect the money to homeless outreach services such as REACH will “dramatically restrict the city’s ability to address unauthorized encampments,” Jason Johnson, Interim Director of Seattle’s Human Services Department, wrote in a letter to the council last week.

Yes I saw that. The players & coaches want to play, but the commissioner doesn’t. The SEC said they would play.

So far, the sports that are playing don’t seem to have many problems, except for my Cardinals.

We got a text today that CA high schools can start practicing Aug 24. We’ll see if that holds
