Gary Anderson is the author. Not sure how I got “John Baer”. I must have been looking at something else.
Moderator: Please correct.
I don’t recall police stations, businesses, and statues being destroyed.
Actually not 100% true. If your store is worthy of being looted, it signals that your merchandise is cool and valuable. Good advertising if insurance picks up the cost.
Yep!
Hmm...look up the “Days of Rage 1969” for starters. It was pretty huge.
There were two main divisions among the crazies then: the counterculture revolution which was about hippies, drugs, communes, liberated chicks and guys who joined the revolution just to get laid.
Far worse was the `antiwar’ movement which wanted the draft abolished (it was, in 1972) and wild eyed lefties who hoped for a communist victory in Southeast Asia (they got it in 1975). It was heavily stocked with draft dodgers.
The violent demonstrations mostly ended with Kent State in 1970. An ROTC building burned here or there, but by 1973 the mass violence had burned itself out.
America was battered, but it went on. Remember this was over a four year period and we are now panicked by just three months of BurnLootMurder?
If the Democrats had nominated Muskie in 1972, they might have carried Rhode Island and Minnesota too, possibly also Oregon. But it still would have been a Nixon landslide.
It's been a long time, but I think they were rioting mostly on their school campus. Some went out in the streets until they encountered water cannons. I and others have asked why they don't use them anymore. What? To many knocked over with broken skulls? I used to love the water cannons used on various riots over the years. Talk about dispersing the scum. You couldn't see them run fast enough.
Now, some of the Mayors won't even allow tear gas. WTF? I had to manage my way through a multi-room structure filled with tear gas and blinding smoke in boot camp. What a miserable experience, but taught me the importance of dawning my mask quickly.
Look for a surprise win by Trump.
He has a shot IF..
1. He can wipe the floor with Biden in the debates,
2. The economy further steps it up with a tighter V-shapes recovery,
3. Another big, unknown game-changer, like a total meltdown by Biden.
Hope for the best, but prepare for outcomes other than the best.
I don’t believe that any police stations were “taken over” nor do I remember any statues/memorials being vandalized/destroyed but there were numerous private business (for example: liquor stores) premises & residences in Chicago that were damaged/looted/set afire during the DIMocRATS Convention by criminals/rioters.
(Both the “visitors” & local thugs didn’t become “law-abiding” during the DNC Convention.)

Among my friends and family is a simmering rage at being labeled racist and being called a white supremacist and many other names. Every day the left finds another way to vilify law abiding hard working citizens based on the color of their skin or their sex. Everybody I know is eager to vote....for Trump.
For the record the most outspoken supporters of Trump on my Facebook feed are my thirty and forty something nephews. They hate what they see happening, yet they are of the age group the Democrats think they own. They don’t want their children living in a leftist dystopia.
Not even close. The Nam protests were 250,000 strong, especially in DC.
>>Look for a surprise win by Trump.<<
I pray you’re right! Long live the silent people (hopefully a majority) who will give Trump another victory.
I question whether they know this. It seems to me that the MSM is covering for Biden well. I suspect that a majority of voters have never seen any of his incoherent rambling.
I believe that's "F**k you very much."
To be fair, Chicago’s mayor was Daily. I don’t know how representative that was of America.
It so happened that the Astros were to play in Chicago right after the DNC convention in 1968. Even though it was over, players said the area around the Hilton hotel (where the Democrats stayed) was like a war zone and the smell of tear gas was still evident days afterwards. The players had to enter and leave through the back entrance so as not to be accosted by the rioters. Fun times.
Let’s try “Daley.” Blessed spell check...
That was Mayor Richard J. Daley. In those days Chicago was very much part of America. It was Mayor Daley who unleashed the cops on rioters at the 1968 Democrat convention and they broke lots of heads.
The terms “police brutality” and “overreaction” originated there.
As one of the last old time Democrats who put America first, he was despised by liberals. Yeah, his chicanery on Election Day may have gotten JFK elected, but even JFK was pro-America unlike today’s left wing Red fascists.
If Biden is allowed to show up at a debate, he'll try the same technique he used to defeat Paul Ryan decisively - condescendingly shaking his head and chuckling as if he is the old veteran who knows everything and his opponent can't understand the Democratic Party's good intentions.
This is highly unlikely to work against Trump, who will not hesitate to call Biden out on Ukraine, China, Antifa/BLM, and groping.
