The Portland Riots, in their 58th night, are the longest-running civil disturbance in United States history. About a week ago I noticed that while the mainstream media wasn’t covering the riots the Portland Police were live-tweeting and live-streaming them almost like a nightly reality program. I decided to name it Portlandia Nights and began writing a synopsis each morning – this is my eighth synopsis and the 58th episode of America’s favorite reality program. I’m not sure how much longer I’ll continue to write these because honestly, every night is the same so I’m calling this episode “Groundhog Day”.
Before I get started with the synopsis I wanted to suggest an idea. Each night the lives of federal employees are put in danger protecting government property and staff. What if we simply sent everyone home each night and locked the doors? It is the responsibility of the Portland Police and Fire Departments to protect private, city, county, state, and federal property and lives within the city limits. We should simply let them do their jobs. If they fail and the building is destroyed perhaps we should simply move the employees to different locations (inside and outside of Portland). The Antifa protesters are using these attacks on the federal buildings as recruiting and training exercises. Each night that they continue the stronger Antifa becomes. We may be winning each battle but we’re losing the war.
The day after Portland’s millionaire playboy mayor, Ted Wheeler joined the riots becoming America’s #RiotMayor events unfolded just as they have every night for the past week (and presumably the previous 57 nights). The protesters arrived at the federal buildings downtown and used cars, trucks, motorcycles, bikes, and fencing to block traffic entering or leaving the area. The mayor called on President Trump to quit ‘terrorizing’ the people of Portland as described by Hannity.

To withdraw now would embolden them everywhere, and nothing would be safe. That would result in We The People eliminating all of them - the Civil War is their goal.
Easier to make a stand now.

18 Arrested, Facing Federal Charges After Weeknight Protests at Federal Courthouse in Portland
All 18 defendants have made their first appearances in federal court and were ordered released pending jury trials or other follow-up court proceedings.
These cases are being jointly investigated the U.S. Marshals Service and Federal Protective Service. They are being prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Oregon.

How is the local mood (for lack of a better word) supportive in general, or is there opposition?
The mayor and administration have given the rioters moral and material support and are responsible 100% for any and all actions of the rioters.
