This is easy, since they don’t believe Trump, all TDS sufferers should refuse any treatment with hydroxychloroquine, and let us idiot Trump supporters (and non haters) have it instead. Sounds fair to me.

The truth is the drugs may be effective. The may decrease mortality. How much? No one knows. If Raoult publishes and is correct, doctors have the go ahead, I have reasoned out how it will be used, people will be disappointed. They seem to think there is enough Plaquenil in the Universe 330 million people could take it prophylactically. In reality, it’s use will be very focused, to reduce length of stay and unburden the healthcare system. Your average person won’t see it, even if it “works” we don’t know how effective it will be.

I wonder why the leftist press ignores the 17 other scientists, most of whom are also doctors, who are co-authors of the paper with Dr. Raoult. And how do the politics or views of the scientists even matter if what they are reporting isn't an opinion, but the results of virus levels measured with a PCR based instrument from two groups of patients.
Unless Slate is suggesting that the French researchers made up the data then the people who ran the research and gathered the data don't matter. The data itself is all that matters, anybody can do their own analysis of it.

That is how research is done around the world. And that is probably one reason that 18 names are on the first paper IHU published.
The data published March 17 is pretty strong.
It has been substantiated greatly, but only anecdotally, by two other advocates using the treatment including the two doctors in New York who have gone public about their regimens.
In the PDF link above, there is a chart showing the Chloroquine and Azythromycin combination vs the Control arm, on day 3 you see a dramatic improvement and by day 5 virtual remission. P values are .002 and .001 respectively. It is not a perfect study, short of what FDA would normally want to approve a new drug, but for new drugs FDA would want a lower than .05 P value (confidence that the results are not random fluke). And this is an old, generally safe drug with minimal drug interactions, so there is very little risk in using it except in narrow sets of conditions or medicine combinations.
(FYI <.05 means better than 1 in 20 chance, and .001 basically means 1 in 10,000 chance that the results were just a freak occurrence and that these drug arm patients somehow miraculously got better vs the control arm which more or less stayed sick the whole 5 days.)
I concede it’s still an “if” but given the data, and the lack of risk, it should be green lighted ASAP.
I’ve seen some of his other videos before - one in particular about beta blockers and whether they may inhibit the virus ability to bind to cells receptors.
