I sold every equity I had in Dec. 2008. I was late to the table for the recession, but didn't get nearly as hammered as most. I knew it was time to liquidate. I even fired my broker for not seeing the stupid ridiculous mortgage requirements forced on banks/loaners by the Liberals. Then you had the dumbass banks bundling and buying those worthless loans. Sheesh, what could go wrong?
Now, a couple of the dem/socs say let's do it again. I'm starting to believe that other than Sanders, not one democrat candidate actually believes it. They're just pandering to the indoctrinated youth. They can't be that stupid.

I could hide out in my father’s village in Abruzzo and be pretty safe. Nobody goes there except for two days in August (festa) and the citizens tend to stick near home too.

I’ve heard that NI look down on SI because SI and especially Sicily was ruled for many years by the Arabs, and inter-mixing occurred, leading to darker skin/hair in the SI, whereas the NI are whiter.

Lake Como is one of the best places I’ve ever been to..my husband raced boats and they’d do the testing there. Maybe it’s snotty - I couldn’t tell - but it’s so beautiful.
One of my students on semester abroad to Rome told me all his field trips have been canceled. He was supposed to go to Pompeii for some excavations but has to stay put in Rome.
That’s because he hated the Johnny Fontaine story line that WAS TRUE.
There were so many real gangsters or connected people in “The Godfather” it was more like a documentary.
Luca Brasi, Johnny Fontaine, Carlo...and a lot more characters were real life mafiosi or had immediate family in the mafia.

Yes, practically Switzerland - but one thing obvious is the Italians are so much more “relaxed”. :-)
Yes, amazing vibe, wine and people. Try a bottle of Montepulciano de Abruzzo, they are all good. Vino Nobile if you want the best, but that’s the expensive one. Most are 10-$15. So earthy. Are you familiar with those?
