I dunno. Been wearing glasses for 54 years. I like cool looking glasses like the aviators (sunglasses) that WW2 pilots and MacArthur wore.
I’ve seen women wear glasses that are probably unnecessary. Both conservative and liberal. I think it’s a power thing, not necessarily a condescending thing

The only style sunglasses I’ve worn for 50 years are aviator. Apparently they go in and out of style periodically for the trendy types. IMO they never go out of style.
Used to ride motorcycles in the 1970s. Nothing like aviators while riding a bike.
Coincidentally, that is what I was wearing and doing today in Central Kentucky (God's gift to motorcyclists). However, I wear a full face helmet with a tinted face shield so no one could see how cool they looked. But, since I ride an Indian, they could already see I was cool.

As I understand it, in new york it already is illegal. An old anti-klan law that forbids people from wearing anything disguising their faces while taking part in a political rally
