Molly Schuyler, a 120-pound mother of four, conquered the 72-ounce showdown at The Big Texan Steak Ranch by eating three of the steak meals in a combined 20 minutes Sunday afternoon.

Hundreds gathered outside the restaurant to watch her down three steaks, three baked potatoes, three shrimp cocktails, three salads and three rolls in a record-breaking time.

“We’ve seen a lot of things come through these doors but Molly ... she takes the cake ... she takes lots and lots of cake,” said a joking Bobby Lee, Big Texan co-owner.

The crowd cheered as Schuyler, a Nebraska native who lives in Sacramento, Calif., finished her first steak dinner in 4 minutes, 18 seconds, beating the restaurant’s record of 4:58 she set May 26, 2014.

Those who wish to take the challenge have 60 minutes to complete the dinner and receive the meal free. Otherwise, the meal costs challengers $72.

I’ve always wondered if competitive eaters intentionally vomit immediately after the event is over, rather than expect their digestive system to handle whatever it is they’ve just gorged upon . . .

I don’t even know how to comment on this other than my family could split 1 3 ways for fajitas and be happy.

Someone needs to see if this woman has an actual lower torso and not just some box for food or something!

It was a classic epic “FAIL” for both of us....not even close.

Fwiw, in 1986 during the Texas Wagon Train, my chief outrider & I were in Amarillo & shopping. - When we finished shopping “Starlene” said, “I’m hungry” & when I looked up we were just a block from the Big Texan.

We went in, ordered the BIG STEAK with 2 plates, two salads, an extra baked potato, extra shrimp cocktail, 2 desserts & 2 iced teas.

OF COURSE, we paid for the steak & the extras.

Starlene said, “I’ll be mother.” & sliced/served both of our plates.
(The waitress asked us if we wanted a “people bag” to take the leftovers with us. We said, YES.)

She brought us another baked potato & several warm loaves of bread, as well as a “People Bag”.

When we got back to the WT camp, we fed 3 other Wagon Trainers from that one steak & extras. = FIVE hungry people ate that ONE big steak & all were PLEASED.

It IS a REALLY big steak & the one that we got was “fork tender” & cooked JUST RIGHT, too.

The ONLY other person that I know of who has completed TWO steaks is ANDRE THE GIANT of Pro Wrestling fame.

Note: According to a sign in the place when we were there, the youngest successful eater was 8YO & the oldest was 83YO.

Oh, I think we could, if we just order for one and nibble around the edges. But I’d recommend keeping your hands and feet inside the car and stay clear of all moving machinery in the process. And please recount all exposed digits before exiting to the terminal. Thank you for flying Big Texan Steak Ranch. *ding*
