The Verge: 8chan could be back online as soon as next week, lawyer says
Obviously that hasn't happened yet.
I was searching news feeds to see if there is anything new on that topic and found this article.
The Verge: 8chan is under police investigation in the Philippines
I wasn't aware of this, but it may explain why the return hasn't happened yet.
The NBI was allegedly focusing on the proliferation of child pornography on the site. Now, 8chan is in the spotlight again because of a screed apparently posted by the man who killed 22 people in El Paso, Texas, this weekend. The site has gone offline after being dropped by infrastructure providers Cloudflare and Epik.Watkins flew under the radar for a long time, but that is over now. You can't get much more high profile than testifying to Congress.---
The United States has expansive laws protecting freedom of speech, and Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act broadly shields sites like 8chan from liability if users post illegal content. But that wont necessarily protect it elsewhere.
His position in the Philippines could quickly go from bad to worse, should the authorities there decide they've had enough of him. Maybe he will decide to stay in the USA, which as the article notes still has much stronger free speech protections than anywhere else.
I think regardless of where he decides to live he's going to face a somewhat united front of tech companies working to keep his site off-line.

Neither could Fidel.
Every time I see that guy my stomach turns.
How evil and sick and depraved.
The awful thing is there are probably scores of victims we haven’t heard about. I can’t help but wonder if Schiffty helped him clean up a mess or two(Standard Hotel). He seems to have gotten uncharacteristically quiet of late.
I don’t care if people are prostitutes and hooked on drugs-damn-nobody deserves to go like that. All to satisfy some weird, racist fetish.
I hope they lock him up and throw away the key.
His arrest may be sacrificial-a token action to protect even worse people in WeHo.
https://twitter.com/search?q=%23transpizza&src=trend_click not sure what this is about. Back of our minds.
One of the earlier Q drops said, "Suicide if actioned." Certain players are expected to take a cyanide capsule if arrested. If the capsule is taken from them at the time of arrest, they will be suicided in jail, like Epstein.

Yes, it did cross my mind that he will suicide.
I wonder how long it will be.
So warden/guards might go along with FBI to avoid ending up in prison or to keep the money flowing. The FBI would probably not be so bold with JHTH if they didn't have some support/compliance from prison staff.
But at some point, the warden/guards would be afraid of going to jail for permitting killing/maiming of the prisoner and they repeatedly halted the beatings, let him be checked out of the prison, and ultimately transferred him out.
Today's post below describes the scenario I think the prison staff was trying to avoid when they halted FBI "interrogations".
January 12, 2018. Still waiting...

I heard an anon on the People’s Soapbox speculate that the reason 8Chan is still dark is that the deep state is planning a massive False Flag and wants to use 8chan to post a ‘manifesto’ from the alledged perp to blame it on Q and the Patriots.
8Chan will come back once the FF is thwarted.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I think it’s part of a multi-prong attack to silence Q, although I suppose it could be Q holding back until they hamstring those in charge of FF.
By posting manifesto content to 8ch, the DS created a pretense for the FBI to identify 8ch posters and bragged about outing users (we had concern trolls spreading the word on FR), intimidated platforms out of hosting the site and now...now they probably have more horrific FF on standby waiting for the day 8ch comes back up. All for a larp, of course.
The whistleblower is being represented by Andrew P. Bakaj, a former CIA officer and managing partner at the Compass Ross Legal Group, a national security law firm.
Bakaj, who formerly worked as a lawyer in the CIA Office of the Inspector General, declined to comment on his client or the Post’s story. Others familiar with the whistleblower’s complaint, however, confirmed its broad outlines and that it involves the president’s communications.
According to Schiff, Maguire intervened to block the documents from being transmitted to lawmakers, diverting the complaint to the Justice Department and telling the committee that would refuse to share it because it involved someone outside the intelligence community and might involve matters of confidentiality and privilege....
