PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — A giant cat at a Philadelphia animal shelter is taking the internet by storm. Morris Animal Refuge tweeted a picture of the huge animal that’s up for adoption.

Doesn’t look obese - just looks like a big cat. I had a Maine Coon that must have weighed about 18 pounds, but this guy dwarfs him.

I don’t mind if people do this, as long as they are kind and considerate toward the cat. ‘Tardar Sauce’ (Grumpy Cat) had a great career and brought a lot of laughs to people.
If my own cats were especially ‘interesting’, I think they’d love to be celebrities. (The way they run our lives, they seem to think they own the world already...)
My boy is 20 lbs. Dang big cat, but hardly a giant. I believe if not for my cpap he might have smothered me in my sleep at least once.

My mother had an orange tabby that tipped the scales at 24 lbs. Solid muscle. Everyone who saw him thought he was a bobcat, if it weren’t for the long tail. I accidentally startled him once and he raked his fangs across the back of my hand. He let go and acted very sheepish when he saw it was me, but it bled like hell and I had a pair of scars there for years afterwards. I’m lucky he was declawed or I’d be typing with a stump.
