And John’s stuff was ever worse.

Actually I had high hopes when Paul collaborated with Elvis Costello, that could have been an awesome partnership, “Veronica” was a fantastic song.

They gave the Stones their first UK hit with “I Wanna Be Your Man.”

Here is a list of all the Stone's charting singles in the UK. Their first song to make the charts was Come on which was released July 31, 1963 and reached number 21 .

Their second hit was the I Wanna Be Your Man, which was on Nov.20, 1963. It made it to number 12.

Not Fade Away came in March of 1964, and reached number 3.

It was It's All Over Now that finally got them their first #1 hit in Aug. of 1964.

Here's the full list:

Yes, Peter Asher is still around as a bigwig Hollywood music producer. Nice fellow, despite having inflicted James Taylor on the world.

Article mentions Peter & Jane’s father was the psychiatrist who discovered Munchausen Syndrome.

I never knew that.

Peter and Jeremy give a GREAT show. If they ever come to town again, we will go again. It was soooo much fun!

That may be the Beetles or the Beadles,
but that is not the Beatles.

Wanna feel old? My daughter asked me if it was true
that Paul McCartney was in a group before ‘Wings.’

Or, “Who is that white guy doing that song with Stevie Wonder?”

Neither is this...

Give Me a Kiss--The Hornets (1964)

Nor this. Although this act got some air play in the summer of '64, they failed to bust any charts.

She's the One--The Chartbusters (1964)

And the Rolling Stones are back on tour.
Talk about longevity.

I’m surprised at that. ‘She’s the one’ got a lot of play at the time.

Paul solo and with Wings had a lot of great songs. “Helen Wheels” is a good rock song, for example.

The best version of “The Killing Floor” is on The Electric Flag album with The great “Mike Bloomfield” playing lead guitar.

I didn’t know until recently that McCartney helped write “Veronica”.

“Veronica” is one of those unusual songs that sounds happy and fun until one delves into the lyrics and discovers just how sad that song is.

Your daughter isn’t alone. My first exposure to McCartney was his “Wings” years.

The first John Lennon song I ever heard was “Just Like Starting Over”.

It wasn’t until after Lennon’s murder that I discovered that McCartney and Lennon were in a band together. Lennon’s murder was the talk of the school playground the next day.

You might not know it, but when
the Beatles first came out, they
called themselves the Silver Beetles.

Lennon wanted them to be called the
Crickets, but McCartney pointed out
the name was already taken, ie,
Buddy Holly’s band.

I was in high school when the Rolling Stones “Some Girls” album came out. We loved it but considered the Stones “old” because they had been around for so long. That was 40 years ago!

Oh yeah. The lead in is one of the all time greats. LBJ “ I speak tonight.....”

I was selling an old-school tube stereo. The prospective buyer came over and I put that track on, and I could tell in the first 30 seconds, he was sold.
