People need to stop thinking of allies as “friends” and think of them like Trump does. Partners the USA can work with to secure our permanent (note the word permanent) national security interests.

Access to world energy resources -for the countries of the free and developing world world, not just the USA
Freedom of shipping and navigation
Coexistence with Israel
Iran is the better choice for NONE of these interests
The USSR actually criticized Britain and the US for their treatment of Nazi Germany, before the Nazis invaded the Soviet Union.
As far as I know, China maintains good relationships with Iran, Saudi Arabia and Israel.
I appreciate and applaud that narrative. Nothing gained with FDR referring to Stalin as 'Uncle Joe.' But clearly the circumstances with the Middle East are a bit more complex...Can't exactly parallel to other examples in history.
This is true re: China and it’s upsetting that Israel’s opened so much of a door to them.

I was just commenting on the myth that the Soviet Union helped us in WWII. If we had delayed going into Europe until 1945, then the Soviet Union would have been crushed and the Nazis would have run out of soldiers before the invasion. We saved the USSR by forcing the Nazis to fight a two front war.
Our two mortal enemies were locked in a fight to the death. We saved one of them.

Its basically a feudal country 200+ filthy rich sub-princes who basically can do what they want to do which includes financing Wahhabi radicalism. There was a diplomatic incident with the Chinese caused by these often renegade sub-princes that gave the Crown Prince the personal political ammo to go to his father and get permission to make changes. Trump is very positive on the Crown Prince and knows he wants to turn Saudi Arabia into a “normal country”. People need to give the Crown Prince time to do what needs to be done. And its likely to not be pretty!
If he fails SA certainly needs to be cut adrift. Anyway the country will probably break apart. And an opportunity for Iran to make hay.

Example:
If a Chinese person wants to talk to you about Taosim. You can laugh at him as you walk away if you are so inclined.
If a Muslim wants to talk to you about Islam, you might not want to laugh as you walk away.
