They don’t want to move to an area where normal Citizens won’t put up with their snarky attitudes and LIB BS. Hopefully, they will quit rather than move. Hopefully, most government “workers” will quit. But, then, I am a dreamer>

I would argue that defense does much of that already, much more than other agencies in this town (i live here). Especially during the previous admin, where the DC gov just grew and hoarded swamp area jobs.

No intended insult to anyone in Kansas City, MO, I’m sorry but the pictures of those with their backs to Perdue look like they’d be right at home anywhere other than DC. At home in any state between the East Coast and the West Coast, in fact. Is that the way they dress to work in a U. S. Government agency? I wouldn’t expect “dress up” wear but certainly an effort to appear more business like. Must be my perception of government employees is a tad off!
I'm an area native, born and raised in Gladstone and now live in Lafayette County about 25 minutes east. I can't imagine living anywhere else.

Nothing of value is produced there and all those Rich People are dependent on Taxpayer Dollars to amass their Fortunes.

Any American who has not been to D.C. should pay a visit.
It will make your blood boil. You can literally feel the money bubbling up through cracks in the sidewalk at you.
I drove from L’Enfant Plaza out to Bethesda and did not see a single vacant storefront or boarded-up building the entire way. You have to get out to around Hagerstown before you re-enter the real world and see signs of someone struggling.
They are stealing all of this money from the rest of us and spending it lavishly on themselves.

I’ve advocated this for years as a ‘national defense’ move to keep the concentration of government out of DC as a big fat target.
Let them quit and the Deep State is reduced while Americans in the rust belt get good paying jobs to raise their children with the traditional American values.
I ain’t tired of winning yet.
Whatever else, this little bit of political theater is a smash-hit comedy for we, the unwashed. If we can’t defund it altogether, it might be worth exploring to send the Department of Labor offices to, oh, I dunno, Detroit? Flint? Gary, Indiana? Move the Department of Transportation to that lonely stretch of road between Bismark and Fargo?
At which point, Perdue should say "All those facing the back of the room have indicated their willingness to quit, so we will deliver their severance pay to them this afternoon."
I would quit my job, sell my house, and move there just to have a government job with those benefits.
