[[Garlic and cayenne pepper, especially eaten in combination, are alleged to clear out clogged arteries.

Might work.]]

garlic and cayenne, eaten in combination, are guaranteed to clear out a room

It is possible “bad cholesterol” is an effect and not a cause. There is a correlation but may not be a causation. Science jumped the gun on cholesterol, both good and bad. They have never proven if cholesterol has an appreciable effect on you. The jury is still out, way out.

I experienced the exact same thing.

I have a fridge full of herring - sometimes a bowl of that is all I eat all day. And I’m rarely hungry.

When I eat something with bread, though, I instantly bloat up and get hungry. It seems to block nutrient absorption so you’re hungry more and more, the more bread you eat.

Actually pine tree bark or pycnogenol is one of the most potent antioxidants in nature; identical chemically to grape seed extract and not related to aspirin, much.

Oh, are you one of those totalitarians who also agrees with Big Tech shutting down Natural News and the Health Ranger?

Exactly. It’s a vicious circle.

I've been on keto for a couple of months. Lost 15 pounds (am within 5 lbs of having 10% body fat). It works like a charm. I just had a doctors appt w/blood test and my doc was shocked with the good results.

I am thinking about shifting to a partial keto where I eat more veggies provided they don't contain more sugar than I can burn off during my daily bike ride. Since I ride late in the afternoon, I will eat nothing but protein afterward my workout or skip dinner altogether.

BTW, during the week I ride the stationary bike at my wellness center (it's free on Silver Sneakers) in front of a TV playing youtube videos of beautiful European bike rides (See HERE and HERE). This seems to be the best way to get in the hours of cardio because the time flies by. Other folks in my wellness center have started to join me in my daily rides so that makes it easier still...and more fun.

Vascepa, by Amarin. FDA Approved for high trigs. Come Sept nearly a slam dunk for expanded label as Reduce-it Phase III trials shows 30% reduction in strokes, 26% reduction in cardiac events and 20% reduction in deaths vs placebo. (Both groups were on statin). The ADA has made the active ingredient in Vascepa ( icosapent ethyl) standard of care for high risk diabetics for 2019.

Also come Sept. a third party study of Vascepa will issue results from the Evaporate study. = Proving reduction in arterial plaque.

The mechanism for Vescepa’s effacy has been a bit of a head scratcher other than significant reduction in inflammation. I believe the plaque reduction result will be proven as well. Due your own DD but current share price is cheap. Amarin has this drug locked up in Patents for the next ten years. Highly likely Big Pharma will come calling with a significant offer once expanded label is approved. Full disclosure as if it isn’t obvious I own a couple thousand shares. And no I don’t have any affiliation with said company.

I hope this leads to new successes in treatment, but also hope this research team looks into non-antibiotic treatment as well as prevention of this, now that they better understand the mechanism.

My wife and I really enjoy that we forget to eat, as well.

We mostly eat one meal a day, but not more than two, any longer.

IF ONLY we could direct the hardness to the preferred location!

Things that are soft and flexible should be hard.

Interesting, an antibiotic. I would have thought an anti-inflammatory.

note to self -
Surprised to see no mention in these posts of another lifestyle condition that may be related to rate of cell death - I am thinking of feelings/thoughts/etc. of HATE, ANGER, UNFORGIVENESS and similar. And even worse - GREED, LUST, RAGE. List of these emotions/attitudes is very ugly.
I agree that the research to this point is promising. But feel it is important to keep looking at what may be the root cause/s - there may be things we need to change in our own “house” (so to speak) besides what we eat, how we exercise, etc.
We are all going to die someday. Where are you going to spend eternity when your earthly body wears out?
