Fashion Notes: Melania Trump Channels Her Inner Royal in Philip Treacy Hat

First Lady Melania Trump channeled her inner British Royal on Wednesday as she sat with Queen Elizabeth II for a ceremony commemorating D-Day.

For the day in Portsmouth, England, Mrs. Trump paid homage to the famed London-based Irish milliner Philip Treacy — the man behind most of all of the British Royal Family’s hats and fascinators — wearing one of his creations from his Spring/Summer 2019 collection.

Think of this hat as the little, British cousin to her iconic custom-made, American-esque Hervé Pierre hat that she donned just a couple of days ago to meet the Queen.

Melania Trump is now 49.

She married Onassis in October of 1968. ... so she was 38.

While in the White House, she spent $approximately $50,000 a year in excess of her husband's $100,000 yearly presidential salary on her "wardrobe."

She favored designers Oleg Cassini and French couture, particularly the work of Chanel, Balenciaga, and Givenchy.

In her role as First Lady, Kennedy preferred to wear clean-cut suits with a skirt hem down to middle of the knee, three-quarter sleeves on notch-collar jackets, sleeveless A-line dresses, above-the-elbow gloves, low-heel pumps, and pillbox hats.

In 2012, Time magazine included Kennedy on its All-TIME 100 Fashion Icons list. (Melania is purposely ignored by the hateful, jealous, radical-Left press).
