Britney Spears has checked into a psychiatric facility after suffering from emotional distress, a source confirms to Variety.
The 37 year-old singer was admitted over a week ago, as first reported by TMZ, and is expected to remain in treatment for a month.
Spears has been troubled over the past year by her father’s health crisis. Jamie Spears recently underwent a second surgery to fix a ruptured colon.
In November, the “…Baby, One More Time” pop star put her Las Vegas residency on hold to look after her dad. She wrote on Instagram: “A couple of months ago, my father was hospitalized and almost died. We’re all so grateful that he came out of it alive, but he still has a long road ahead of him. I had to make the difficult decision to put my full focus and energy on my family at this time.”
Spears’ mental issues date back to 2007 when the pop star infamously shaved her head and attacked the paparazzi with an umbrella. She later checked into the psych ward at UCLA’s Medical Center.
At 18 she had been a Disney star for about 6 years.
She’s not very bright and she grew up in show business. It’s sad.
When you were a teen, did you consider adults in their late thirties as young? Many teens today probably have no idea who she is.
When you work in Hollywood you biz partners are hostile to your country, your value set, and to YOU.
She’s works in pressures and treachery that we can only imagine.
This same thing happens to a lot of them because they’re all working and living in that very special, very twisted environment.
Fist pic I saw of Spears left me with the impression that there was a lot of Judy Garland in her eyes. Thought it must just be a look...

Sweet holy Mother....that is good-old fashioned American beauty right thurr.
Spears was part of the Mickey Mouse Club cast for three seasons, and went back home to finish high school after the show got cancelled.
She got famous after launching a music career several years later. At 18 she was at the cusp of stardom, but fame hadn't taken over her life.
Agree, and its a real shame she didn't follow her instincts and get into country music.

Some modern translations, like the Jehovah's Witnesses' "New World Translation" do not present Jesus as God. Modern translations out of the Westcott & Hort tradition undercut Jesus' Deity, in some places subtly, but in other placed completely eliminating passages that refer to Jesus as God. The NIV is great for this kind of error.
