My dad had a coin “collection”.
He basically saved all the silver coins he could get his hands on.
He’d go to vegas each winter to work and would come back with a spit load of silver dollars, back when slots still took and gave them.
He also saved wheat,steelies and Indian Head pennies.
He also saved silver certificates.
When he died I got the “collection”. I split it with my sister. I kept the pennies and gave her the rest with a recommendation to put ‘em in a sock and let ‘em just sit until she gets old.
She was an “end of the monther”.
I still got the pennies.
Hindsight...20-20.
My Dad did the same thing! He saved every silver, wheatie, steel, silver cert.
We made fun of him.
I still have them.
