There is a local forum site called 2coolfishing. Its popular and gets a lot of traffic. Join and search under TTMB (Totally Texas Message Board) you can find any questions you might have.
There is a thread on the site under the hunting board called “Unusual discoveries you have made while hunting.” Enter at your own risk. I ran across it years ago after getting off work and fixing a drink. About five hours later and dang near a empty bottle I finished reading it. I called in sick the next day.

Galveston has plenty to see and do, but the water at the beach is horrible due to sediment from the bay.
You pretty much have to go to Schlitterbahn Waterpark in Galveston if you want to hit the water.
East Beach
If you're looking to party East Beach is your ultimate destination! Located at the far eastern tip of the island, East Beach is famous for its great festivals and live concerts held throughout the summer months. The beach park is home to a pavilion, boardwalk and entertainment stage as well as restrooms, showers, chair and umbrella rentals, concessions and other amenities. Unlike most of Galveston's beaches, alcohol is permitted at East Beach.

I've been going to East Beach since I was young. It was...informative...to a curious and observant kid growing up in the late 60's and early 70's. You see and hear a lot when nobody really sees you.

Can't speak too much about Corpus. I do know they have nice beaches that you can drive down and the water is clear.

After all of your information we have decided to just go back to Pensacola FL as we don’t get the chance to go to the beach much(we live in the Council Bluffs IA/Omaha NE area) ad when we go to a beach we would like a nice one.
