I had to change my password on the WIFI (via COMCAST cust serv assistance) and had to reset all devices, My wifes cell, her tablet one smart TV and of course my new cell phone.

One TV refuses to obey the prompt to re-set and every page I go to indicates I am not connected (The device is not connected), but every other device is.

Can a smart TV become dumb ?

Aggravating because it is the LR TV we use during daytime for youtube instructionals. Any help would be appreciated.

(My sister is out of the shower with trhe cheeze eating moose and a rabbit with the pancake on it's head .... oh .... and I'm logged in, beeber on stuned ... )

I’d call the manufacturer.

It’s a computer, and it can be hacked, and can be infected with viruses.

My smart TV does that, too. There is a way to jump on the screen you need as it sets-up, I just can’t remember what it is . . .

I think you should turn the TV off and put on "Luxury Liner" by Emmylou Harris. This is a pretty awesome album and blows away whatever is on TV tonight.

Her cover of that Chuck Berry song is incredible but also her versions of "Pancho And Lefty" and "Making Believe."

What band are you running? B,G? New cell is probably N. Try switching to 2.4ghz or get a new router.

I am confident that your tv didn’t pick the same moment that you changed your longstanding wifi password to die & go to heaven. these events seem related.

N and I have both lit up, 2.4 and 5 GHZ ... intermitently flashing, which it always did

JUST came back from re-booting the modem.

ALL devices working as advertised except this one TV.

You could create a new WiFi network and login to the new network one device at a time

When complete delete the original network..

I just did that hours ago because of my new cell phone.

Well, not a whole new account, just reset a password which had to be done with each device.

All working perfectly after re-setting password except this one TV.

A factory reset does wonders in cases like this. Google your tv make/model and see how to factory reset. It should be easy from there on out. You will lose any bookmarks other installs on the TV, but you don’t sound all that tech savvy so prob not an issue.

Your answer is only partially correct. A lot of us listen to Emmy Lou (and Gram Parsons) through internet on our smart tvs. :-) Yeah, the darn CD AND album are probably both around here someplace.

Cable box. Modem. Smart tv. Dumb operator. Somebody is going to make a fortune on all in one. One remote. Plug and play.

While I was over here lollygagging and skylarking with y'all .... my precious wife found an obscure (to ME, anyway) settings page in/on the TV where I could input the new password.

I had been following all the prompts on the pages that said there was no connection (one click was "reset device) which didn't work and I never thought to just go look for another page.

Everything's alright with the world now .... she is enjoying "Girl In The Woods" (her favorite) on youtube as we speak.

I'm going back to bed where I was before she panicked and woke me up to "fix the TV"

Thank you one and all for your assistance.

I avoid these problems by running everything I can on ethernet. I have lots of ethernet. All over the place. Built the house pre-wired for it.
