Does he mean “One soldier may have died” or “One soldier has possibly died”?

Fer cryin’ out loud! Learn what the meaning of “potentially” is before using it in a news report.

“would not confirm nor deny”. The word you should have used is not “nor”; it’s “or”. Sheesh.

Chill out, dude. The style manual for TV stations is a lot looser than for dead tree media. What you see is common.
