Hey Jude was the first release of newly-created Apple record company in 1968
It featured as its logo an image of an apple, inspired by a René Magritte painting
Hit single featured a whole apple and a sliced apple on either side of the vinyl
Some thought the sliced apple looked too much like a vagina for distribution

The Beatles' smash-hit single 'Hey Jude' was almost never a hit - because the vinyl's apple label was dubbed pornographic, a newly-discovered letter has revealed.
The iconic song by the Fab Four was their first release of their newly-created Apple record company in 1968.
But it was nearly scuppered because distributors feared the picture of an apple cut in half on one side looked like a vagina.

I was still working as a radio DJ when that record came out...I remember the label distinctly, but never, ever, did it occur to me that the half-apple side resembled a vagina.

Who had no problem sleeping with someone else’s husband and horning in on Beatle music sessions offering “advice”. You can have her.
Yeah I hated her too but the Beatles had issues before her. Paul was no picnic and John was a drug addict. As far as adultery goes John was a complete womanizer I can’t focus on her she took their relationship quite seriously. He finally straightened out thanks to her.
Hey Jude is timeless. It sucked when it was new and it still sucks to this day...

In 1968 while eating lunch in a redneck Houston diner, I dropped a dime in the jukebox and played Hey Jude. The other patrons glared at me as though I was a Communist subversive. I’ll never forget that moment!
But a still warm apple pie can be any number of things....
