5 States Most Impacted By Recent Tesla Supercharger Price Increase
Inside EVs ^ | March 18, 2018 | Steven Loveday

As we reported just the other day, Tesla quietly hiked rates for Supercharging in most states. Keep in mind that this impacts all Tesla Model 3 owners, as well as owners of new Tesla Model S and X vehicles who purchased their vehicles without utilizing a referral code.

Thanks to hardcore EV fans like Teslanomics’ Ben Sullins, we have an update on how states were affected by the new rate hike, as well as the actual percentage of increase.

As we explained the other day, states like Illinois have seen over a 60 percent increase, from .15/kWh to .25/kWh. States like California that already had higher rates weren’t hit so hard (.20/kWh to .26/kWh).

It turns out that some states saw an increase of over 100 percent, and several saw the 100 percent (doubling) increase.

The states facing the biggest percentage increase include Washington, Oregon, West Virginia, Idaho, and Utah. Washington took the biggest hit, with a 127 percent increase.

No, no, no. Astronomer Thomas Gold was a prominent proponent of the abiogenic hypothesis in the West.

PS... only replaced the front and rear brake pads and spark plugs only once ...and did the job myself.

“It has been discovered that fields under the Gulf of Mexico that were long since tapped out...are refilling.”

Interesting! I didn’t know that little detail. It’s looking like we can’t run out of oil if we tried!

All the Prius cars I have seen have conventional brakes.

Not sure what requires a 3000 dollar brake job.

“The electric company is so cruel turning off the power of people that don’t pay their bills!”. “People have to choose between food and electricity”.

_____________

Yet they never whine “The grocery store is so cruel turning off the groceries of people that can’t pay for them”.

Should have read "We have four never-used Tesla super chargers in my small Montana town" lol.

But the upside, for a Montanan like you, is that the "ll" Teslas you claim to have seen are driven by actors, corrupt politicians from the east, land-grabbing moguls and trust-fund babies who are not so slowly turning the state into just the sort of crapholes you have all left behind.

Home sweet home, right?

Brake jobs are the biggest ripoff in history.
I can imagine they eyes widening on those mechanics when a woman walks in the door.
40 bucks for pad replacement on each end as long as they didn’t wait to long and destroy the rotors.
Even so the rotors are usually cheaper than the pads, around 20 bucks each last time i did it.

I do brake jobs for all my friends and family if they want it, especially the girls.
I HATE seeing people get ripped off and the brake job is usually under an hour and easy as hell.

The battery need to be able to slide right out the side and a fully recharged battery slide back in to replace it.

Just like those Blue Rhino propane tanks you see at the supermarkets.
forget waiting an hour at some recharge station.

Same here! I still remember my old-timer neighbor telling me stories about disc brakes, and how the shops charged at least twice, if not more, to work on them, even though they were MUCH EASIER than drums (as I also know first-hand, over dozens of years). The thing was - they were new, and people didn’t know better.

The BEST THING that I ever learned growing up was to be able to repair cars. The number of times that I actually took a car in to the shop (other than for tires or a 4-wheel alignment, or major body work) can still be counted on one hand. Needless to say, my kids didn’t get a free ride in this areas either, especially my boys!

Reminds me of Tom Swift and His Electric Car, which I read back in the 1940's. Poor Tom was always having to interrupt his chase of the bad guys to recharge his car.

I don’t think we’re close to that point yet, but check with me in 10 years, and I’ll probably agree with you!

I wasn’t really speaking to direct political contributions but rather financing Democrat institutions such as colleges, universities and hospitals.

But I am sure that the Arabs are funneling money to the Democrat Party through these institutions.
