Maybe the CEO of Delta could take a smaller salary/benefits package to compensate for the shutdown loss. IIRC they took full salaries after 9/11 when taxpayers bailed out airlines.

Or maybe not pass out the tiny peanut packages if they still do that.

Have you ever had a moment in time when you said, “I wish I had thought of THAT!”?

So, here I was sitting in an RJ out of Houston, headed for Detroit. As we begin descending into DTW, the attendant comes by with a basket of munchies; pretzels and peanuts. The fella next to me, at the window, is perusing the morning WSJournal and I am busy putting away my laptop. Attendant comes buy and asks me if I would like a package; “Pretzels or peanuts?”. I refuse. She then looks at my fellow flyer and asks him with a simple word, “Peanuts?”.

He replies, No thanks. I have one.” And goes on reading.

DAMN! I wish I had thought of that.
