When will it ever be enough?
Jan. 13, 2019 | 13Sisters76

Two more police officers have been shot in the line of duty. That makes 3 killed by gunfire, 4 killed with cars, and 2 more remain in critical condition after being shot. That is JUST this year and it's ONLY January. When is enough, enough? When will the rest of us get tired of our "front line" being killed because of the job they do and the uniform they wear? The time is long past due for "we the people" to decide that criminals should NOT be mollycoddled, their rights encased in solid gold while ours and those of police officers are trampled under the feet of the unwashed social justice warriors, and felons roam our streets after being released for "good behavior" or overcrowding. The time has come to re-address our juvenile justice system and stop treating teenagers who rob, maim, and kill as "children". I have been surrounded by cops my entire life beginning with my beloved grandfather. Now my husband and my son wear the uniform and I can say with full assurance that I have never known- NEVER- a police officer whose only reason for the job was to be a "fascist". ALL those I know are men and women who go to work every day knowing that politicians and soggy-brained activists have effectively handcuffed THEM and that they could be killed for doing their duty. They go, every day, knowing that they are the only thing, weakened as they are, that stands between us and the "Purge". We are becoming prisoners in our homes by those who prey on us. They know that murdering cops and innocent people will only get them some light prison time in these social clubs we call jails. When will we decide that those who commit crimes, ESPECIALLY the killing of police officers, must be treated accordingly? If they will kill a cop for rolling up on them while they are breaking into cars (Birmingham), how easy is it for them to kill US while breaking into our homes? When do we get tired of greedy lawyers turning our justice system into a game and re-writing the Constitution? When do we get tired of the media turning thugs into heroes and "children", i.e. Michael Brown and Trayvon Martin? Re-instate the death penalty, hold lawyer-fed deal making to strict guidelines (start regulating the regulators), don't release- BUILD. More, and more secure, prisons, without gyms, without tvs, without cellphones and without socializing with your homies (read: gangs). I prefer more guards to more felons running free. You hate cops? Then don't get pulled over while driving drunk or dirty. Don't beat your old lady. Make sure your plates are up to date and you are insured. Don't deal. Don't be a jerk. Get a bruise on your silky pelt while being arrested? Don't fight and resist. Don't run thinking you can get away. Our courts should not even ENTERTAIN lawsuits launched by greedy family members who think their dead family member is better than winning the lottery. Maybe I am not the only one who DOESN'T CARE what color you are, or that you are a (6'4, 280lb) "child". I DON'T CARE. I am tired of seeing long police funeral lines, and heartbroken families. I am TIRED of perps and their families and their arrogant enablers.

Well and Good and I sympathize with the poster. Problem is they have created an atmosphere where it’s them against everyone else. Everyone else is treated like the lowest common denominator. Also, especially in big cities, police are street muscle for filthy corrupt governments and feel duty bound to enforce whatever unfair and draconian laws these bastards enact. Imagine the utter lack of morality it takes in say New York to arrest someone for having an 8 round magazine?

The stupid and the ignorant do not deserve a response. He probably got a ticket he deserved and is unwilling to accept responsibility.

Of course he doesn’t care about the K9s. It doesn’t fit his agenda

Unfortunately, those tools have been bastardized by “precedent”. You have to admire the genius of it, AND the patience of those who knew any attempt to undo the Constitution would lead to another Civil War. What the Founders envisioned was beautiful. What those who have come after have done to it is demonic.

“And dogs get shot when dealers train them to attack the police during a raid. “

No one objects to that. It’s when cocker spaniels, beagles, chihuahuas etc get iced. And no-knock night raids at the wrong address resulting in the death of an innocent home owner are stinkers too. Clean up all this kind of crap, punish the errant cops and then we can talk. Otherwise, police become viewed...rightly or wrongly...as a terrorist force.

OK jerk. I don’t know how you were able to move this, but then I don’t spend my days in Mom’s basement playing on a computer. And I’m guessing that offending the rights of others is just what you do- that whole free speech thing must really chap your butt. I have reported your abuse and intend to re-post it back on the news/activism site. Worm.

Maybe people should stop being “aggro” and write like they have matured beyond video games.

“I am tired of seeing long police funeral lines, and heartbroken families. I am TIRED of perps and their families and their arrogant enablers.”

Thank you for your post. You made excellent points regarding the way law-abiding citizens are treated in comparison to the rights of criminals.

I’ve never been pulled over, but I have had to call the county police out after my rental house was broken into 4 different times. The officers were all standoffish and alert to everything going on, wearing a camera in order to record me, very down-to-business types. I didn’t get offended at the demeanor of any officer I dealt with. They don’t know who, at any given moment, might be setting them up or who might fly off the handle.

In 2018, my community had two very young officers killed in the line of duty. We witnessed two police funerals with services at the same church less than 11 months apart, one last February, one right after Christmas. Two young husbands gone - one with a baby on the way, one with a toddler.

You write like it.

Try having some respect for yourself and your readers and write like an adult.

Weren't you the one that posted a vanity without paragraphs as news?

Sounds a lot like "playing on a computer" to me.

Party on.

The police didn’t create this atmosphere. Want someone to REALLY blame? Blame the media who blow these stories up before there is a shred of evidence, who broadcast edited videos and give time to the single mothers who created these monsters. THOSE are the ones to blame. The police didn’t create the “us vs them” mentality, but who must now react to it. Do you know that the young policewoman who was shot was alone investigating a simple traffic accident when the perpetrator rode up on a motorcycle, pumped at least 5 rounds into her FOR NO REASON? The police don’t want to work this way, but they ALSO want to go home at night. The governments ARE corrupt, but then, the voters keep voting these criminals back in. You’re right, the police don’t have any say about the laws, i.e., how do you think that cop feels who had to arrest that guy in NY for selling single cigarettes? Did he believe in that law? Who could with half a brain? Did he know that the guy was an uncontrolled diabetic with a blood pressure problem, or that the guy would fight them like he did? Undoubtedly not ESPECIALLY since the guy only had to pay a fine and would be out that afternoon. They don’t agree with many of the laws, but it is a hill they choose not to die on. Bigger things are coming- for instance...I know that cops here in Georgia have absolutely NO intention of confiscating people’s guns if such a law is ever passed. The hill you choose depends on importance.

“I’ve never been pulled over...”

What never? I have been, many times in the almost 60 years I’ve been driving. By everything from local, to county, to state police, not always from or in my state or county or locality. A couple of times they were not pleased with me at the first, either. I treated them with respect, and obeyed their instructions, and the situations ended peacefully and professionally. Been to Court a couple of times, too, I was not always in the right. Presented my case, paid my fines, or what ever. (Reminds me, I owe another payment on a fine for not having the right insurance … never mind, that’s none of your business, not your problem.)

Well, police aren’t perfect, and those cases you are referring to are usually done by fed cops (DEA) who don’t know the area they are currently policing, and all are generally going on the info provided by CIs who were so high they can’t remember WHAT house they were at. I have never heard of an ankle-biter being shot, but ANY dog coming at you is considered a threat. Perps, btw, would rather face a cop with a gun than ANY dog.
