The young punk in the picture, his head cocked arrogantly to one side, is sneering at the camera, for what has he to fear from the law? Like so many of his kind, then and now, he was a pampered child of privilege; his father was Thomas Ayers, the fabulously wealthy CEO of Commonwealth Edison.
The government dropped all charges against William Ayers due to FBI misconduct. The FBI, we have all learned, is very good at “bungling” cases against real criminals, and equally good at railroading innocent people.
Like his equally arrogant and privileged wife, Bernardine Dohrn, Ayers would be given a cushy job as a “teacher” at a university, meaning an indoctrinator for the next generation of leftists...snip

Well, if the shutdown goes on till Feb. 1, it will be interesting. I read that food stamp money runs out then.

Looking at some Videos of the Funeral for GHWB. Interesting to note that there is a row of Presidents, then a Row of Vice Presidents, and Secret Service is in the 3rd row.
However, GWB has 2 Secret Service agents sitting directly behind him. GWB shook hands with all the Presidents and their wives, including POTUS and Melanie, was friendly to them.
He shook hands with the Obamas, but totally ignored Pence who was sitting right behind him. Didn’t even nod his head. That just seems odd to me.

Interesting observation. I saw the 3rd row, but assumed that the 2nd row was considered totally safe and that the SS felt that they were in good position to protect both rows from the 3rd. The only thing I can make of your observation about W is that being the center of attention is directing the crazies straight at him.
I didn’t watch any of the funeral coverage. It tends to get a bit overblown. So I’m very grateful to you for catching the subtleties.
As for Obama, W’s bizarre habit of not attacking the opposition seems to fit in there. Shaking my head at that characteristic of his.
Trump had the power in that environment to offer or refuse things Bush wanted. Given Trump’s reputation for punching back harder than he’s punched, but of only being a reactor, Bush was smart to be polite to him.
As for Pence, one could argue that he couldn’t offer Bush anything, or one could speculate as to whether there had been any private controversies between them that hadn’t leaked.
But very interesting observations.

Melania Trump- Let’s face it… the First Lady would look great in anything she wore but this kind, cultured, soft-spoken lady takes major abuse for her fashion choices, with virtually none of it merited. Watching replays of the funeral my wife observed the SS around the Bush family weren’t ‘protecting’ them, they were guarding them.

Sincere apologies but I don’t know the difference.
My typing wasn’t clear - I was observing that Trump did not shake hands with Pence, nor did he even acknowledge him - seemed odd, given that Pence was right there in the chair behind where Trump was going to sit.
I wondered about it at the time, and when I saw a Video, it reminded me. I did wonder about GWB-Thought he might have had more than usual threats or something.
The SS were watching the Bushes not watching possible threats.
