Trump is an existential threat to the deep state and their media lackies. They have already attempted a coup to bring down Trump with the whole Russia collusion narrative, the Mueller witch hunt and now the personal destruction of anyone associated with Trump. The Kavanaugh hearings were for once a very open view of the ruthless methods they will use to hold power. Sadly the American people were once again hoodwinked and voted in a House full of these lunatics. This will embolden the deep state to press home with their attempts to destroy Trump. Look for the next two years to be endless House hearings, investigations and no end to the Mueller witch hunt. Trump will be indicted for phony crimes and every pressure will be applied to force him to resign. The GOP edge in the Senate will be the only thing stopping an impeachment.

Will Trump run for a second term is an open question. The deep state will now focus on Trump’s family and seek to destroy them as a way to get Trump and compell him to not seek a second term. The GOP with feckless leadership and divided in their loyalty to Trump could not come up with a candidate other than Trump who could beat even Elizabeth Warren or crazy Bernie Sanders. The deep state war isn’t over and there will be more battles. The wild card is if the deep state and leftist loons over play their hand on a third rail issue like gun control and trigger a civil war.

I think an important point gets missed in this discussion: the Deep State (and the billionaires who own and operate it) is an end in itself. It is not the Deep State's goal to allow a President like Trump to return liberty to the American people. Nor is it the Deep State's goal to allow a President Kamala Harris to head a Communist dictatorship. If either faction seems to be growing too powerful, the Deep State will yank them back into line. The factions exist to placate the public and convince them they have a voice, not to rule.

The Deep State's end game is entrenchment of a quasi-capitalist feudal world state, with themselves and those they hand-pick firmly established at the top. A state just free enough to placate the Makers and just slave enough to satisfy the Fakers and the Takers. To accomplish this, they need to keep the non-productive classes happy through social welfare benefits and Marxist platitudes AND they need to keep the productive classes happy by allowing them to earn and keep at least some money, as without their brains there will be no tax revenues.

Obama was a step too far. His executive orders were starting to kill the whole system. President Hillary Clinton would have been forced by the Deep State to rein in some of his Leftist excesses, to the extent that if she had won we would be hearing the Antifa types griping today about her being a capitalist sellout.

Likewise, Trump is a step too far in the other direction - as he is apt to remind older people who paid attention in school that we are nominally a Constitutional Republic, and many alphabet agencies who have in the past commanded great respect from the public are in fact not worthy of an ounce of it. The Deep State has to shut him up, somehow, because trust in the Federal Government and its institutions is an important component of their plan.

When presented right, Deep State anti-liberty actions can easily fool conservatives into backing them. The Reagan-era War on Drugs/War on Crime and the Bush Patriot Act are classic examples of anti-liberty Deep State schemes covered in red, white, and blue Dwight Eisenhower gift wrap. Obamacare, on the other hand, was a big misfire due to its excessively Marxist approach and the blatant lies of Obama himself - and the productive classes have largely rejected it. But notice how it has not really gone away, either?

The Deep State's big fear is a plurality of voters abandoning both wings of the Federal Government Party. If you think they hate Trump the Republican, imagine what they would do to Trump the Independent?
