the "pre-existing condition"

It may have been a winner for the democRATS only because nobody is willing to call it what it is....cost shifting.

Insurance is a pure bet, meaning that there isn't an existing condition that nullifies the pure bet that you're disease free and they will pay if you get one.

You wouldn't issue insurance on a car that has already been damaged in a crash and needed repair.

The FED slowing the economy too fast didn’t help.

You seem like a smart feller, pepsi_junkie.

I can give you only one piece of advice with respect to investing: Know yourself!

Know what your psychological limits are.

Know how to control your impulsiveness.

Learn how to recognize when you've "fallen in love" with a stock (a big no-no, as I'm sure you know).

Know how greedy you can be.

Learn to catch yourself when you fall prey to "magic thinking."

Knowing your investing horizon is a very good starting-point - but it is not the end of wisdom.

Regards,

Japan, my adopted second country, has made it work, only 5% of the populace are in jail.
Crimes get solved, immigration laws are strict, and the culture of work and community is very solid.

I adore the Japanese culture-----the reverence for history, the inventiveness, the attention to perfection.....the food.

Hey Liz, RE:Japanese recipes.

One of the favorites my wife makes is a vegetable tempura dish.

Here’s a recipe I found on-line:
https://www.justonecookbook.com/vegetable-tempura/

You can be very creative with this. Shrimp is a perfect seafood to tempura.

But also, any firm-textured vegetable works. An onion slide is great, a mid-sized mushroom too.

My wife cuts vegetables like carrots, potatoes and burdock root into thin, long toothpick-like slices. Then she’ll mix these ingredients together with the batter to make a clump of these thin vegetables and tempura them.

Then, as we eat, we dip each clump into a thin ponzu and soy sauce flavored liquid (room temperature) — maybe minced daikon radish inside.

The best way to eat is hot off the grill so you taste both the hot temperature of the food and the crispiness of the batter.

It’s to die for :- )

I love tempura......those superb Japanese chefs call battering julienned vegetables kakiage, I believe.

Thanks for the recipe.

You’re sandbagging on me, Liz :- ) I didn’t know it had that name. That’s exactly what it is: kakiage. Great, now I’ll try that new vocabulary on her tonight and see what she says...

Actually I’ve my newly pregnant daughter (California) and my sister from Martha’s Vineyard coming down to Georgia at Christmas time, so I’m pretty darn sure kakiage will be on the menu.

I saw those commercials myself. This Democrat house victory was a two-pronged Attack. Peeling off white suburban women with the pre existing conditions lie and massive provisional voting. And then a major coordinated spending advantage. Democrat commercials out numbered Rs 5 or 6 to 1.

Aim Low! lol...

What bothers me about the market is the ten or twelve percent of froth that everybody knows is a fraud...

Given any provocation the “pros” panic, and down goes the froth, the float, so to speak, about which the little guy can do nothing at all.

My view has always been that if the scam is such that ten or twelve percent is always just for someone else’s fun and profit...screw the street.

I don’t do business with anyone else on such a reckless premise.

so that the election of President O’Rourke can be assured.

Vice President Howard O. Roark, you mean, on the ticket with President Trump?

I could vote for that team!
