I’m sure that list is far more interesting than a release from 1995; A little ditty called “99 Luftballoons.”
Heard of it?

I was 10 yrs old in 1971. We skinned our knees, bumped our heads and didn’t cry. We were unstoppable.

High compression engines required lead to keep the engines from knocking. No computers to adjust timing continually. No lead, no compression no power.

I have some fun memories, sure, but also it must be noted that absent parents also let a lot of kids get abused. I cant really say it was a good thing. I have no regrets about protecting my young children and I continue to be there for them and protect them WHILE STILL GIVING THEM FREE PLAY but supervised too. It is risky to leave kids alone too much.

The Pirates were world champions in 1971. Despite having a 3-1 lead, well over 100 wins, and four 20-game winners on their staff, the Orioles blew it.
They lost to the Pirates again in the same way in 1979.

Thank you, and wasn’t that the truth about the end of the year top 100 tunes of the year, though? I guess that I wasn’t the only one. Eh?

I was a college freshman in 1971. I remember driving around in boyfriends car a gto with 8 track listening to all those songs 3 dog nite and grass roots
I am forever grateful to my boy friend who taught me to drive a stick shift in his 71 plymouth barracuda. I always had manual cars after that. I could leave the keys in my car unlocked as nobody else could drive it.

A most brilliant post. I grew up in the same age and understand completely. You touched long past memories that sadly the young today will never know or even understand if they did see.
Metallic man took a lot of time and effort into that post and he did well on his blog.
