A murder charge involves preplanned intent to kill or letting anger move someone to take a life. There is not enough information known yet to determine a charge against her. This reminds me of previous stories about a homeowner shooting a child who they thought was a criminal breaking in. Panic may be involved in either case.
You could be right. Just hard to believe she'd simply walk to his apartment, shoot him to death, then admit it, all in an effort to conceal some kind of secret affair, which would never remain secret after an incident of this nature anyway.
And btw, with social media, texting, emails etc, finding if two individual had a relationship is quite easy and can be done very quickly nowadays.
The doors also have Numeric keypads as an alternative to control the locks at this Apartment Complex.
The grammar in the headline is proper British English - not so much for American English.
“They were boinking”
Do you mean that, as in the verb “To Boink”?
In addition to being a banker he taught a Bible class at his local church. He was pursuing a career as a Christian leader in the black community. This was a remarkably talented, moral young man who was deeply motivated to become a man of Christ like character. His death is a horrid injustice.
“Yep, that female equality is working out great.”
In the old days women officers were hired to deal with female prisoners and children. No for real watch “Dragnet” they are telling it like it was.
Female officers wore skirts, carried a black leather issued purse that held their badge, gun and ID on one side and make up on the other. They wanted female ops to look like females.
I guess that is not PC anymore.
You are absolutely correct, however in this insane time in which we live, everyone will chime in with their absurd theories and narratives. The Cop Haters will eagerly join the fray to send their “message”, the race baiters, the Trump haters, etc. If there is any such thing as a singular “reality”, it is probably that this was a horrific and tragic “bad shooting”. Multiple lives of GOOD people ended, for no good reason, other than a poorly trained and fear ridden but well meaning Officer instantly reacting (incorrectly) to all the Cop Hate rampant in this country. She should and must pay the price for entering a GOOD mans dwelling and killing him. But a story like this cannot and will not go to waste by all those with an agenda to prove. Meanwhile, THOUSANDS of drive-by’s and gang banger killings will go without any comment whatsoever, simply because they don’t serve anyone’s narrative. Even that scumb*g Rahm Emmanuel got trashed for daring to question the morality and values of these proud and prolific killers. I wish it were otherwise, but I firmly believe it will only get worse.
It’s an endless argument with no resolution just opinions. Suit youself.
You should be her lawyer, your whole piece is a rationalization for her action.
She is a godam cop. Supposedly superiorly trained way better than the general public to deal with stressful situations and assessing whats going on.
This is murder 2 at least, if we don’t learn there was stuff going on between them as neighbors, then its murder 1.
“...when she walked into the wrong apartment and shot the man inside.”
That comes across like a generalization for a sound bite. It still may be true, but I’m going to cling to my theory for a while longer. Thanks.
It might be a generalization, but that’s exactly what was reported in updated articles only a few hours old and from several sources.
“’She is devastated,’ a Dallas police officer close to Guyger told Dallas News. ‘She is so, so sorry for this family.’ “
Sure she is.
I believe that.

The simplest explanation is that she went to the wrong door in a long line of identical doors, thinking it was hers, and simply panicked when a strange man opened the door. Going to the wrong door is modestly embarrassing when you walk into a conference to which you were not invited. Or when you try to get into the wrong hotel room or dorm room and wake someone up. But it happens from time to time. Alcohol is often involved in such situations, but not always.
Usually such incidents end with a "sorry, me bad" and a joke the next day. In this case, the officer was armed and panicked, which is not a good thing to do with a gun. It's not premeditated murder, but precisely where it ranks in the various gradations of wrongful killings, I don't know. I don't see any extenuating circumstances. She's likely to get the book thrown at her and suffer fairly stiff consequences unless she wins the judge lottery.
I would not be surprised if we eventually learn that she had a couple of drinks, or more than a couple, on the way home.
Then you will never hang out with me.
I "hung out" with my US Coast Guard LE group for 14.5 years. During that time I was hanging with folks with rounds chambered, who were under strict safety directives. It was a 24/7/365 operation. However, I know of 3 potentially disastrous weapons safety incidents that occurred during that time frame in that small group!
Yes, I won't knowingly hang out with you unless SHTF. Stay safe, my friend!
If all your money is on a quick draw contest then be my guest.
Why keep your weapon holstered or in your pocket it time is so essential? Why not carry weapon in your hand?
These folks ought to try to move into safer neighborhoods.

She was sleepy
She worked a long shift
She was on her cell phone and ya know how that distracts people
These are cop hater comments
All the apartments are identical with identical furnniture and she became confused.
The victim jerked open the door in a threatening manner and scared her.
A quote; Adrenalin.....amazing drug! "Going from sleep deprived to 90mph in less than half a second."
yeah. 2014. ...and this isn’t the type of thing that BLM presents.
