Darn I walked out of the room before they got back to that after the commercial... He was former military, right? That’s all I heard.

I didn’t hear anything about military, but he’s going to school. The story is incredible. It makes you so proud of this young man.

Twenty miles to get to work? That’s damn impressive. And he wants to be a Marine? It’s easy for me to imagine him being an outstanding Marine!

An example to all young folks - your dedication will carry you long and strong, and it will be rewarded in some way.

Cute story, but didn’t any one he knew give him a ride or at least have an old bicycle he could have borrowed? My wife and I ride our bikes 20 or 30 miles for fun.

I know I for one don’t know anyone with a bike that I could beg borrow, but I know of one or two I might could steal, but that would change the whole story. ;-)

He will realize what a $hitty job it is to move other people’s junk. Now he cannot quit.

Well worth it or the CEO. Good PR and a write off.

Article says he plans to finish school then join the marines. So he’s a future former marine.

The GoFundMe set up for him had a goal of $2000. It is now over $67,000!

>> He will realize what a $hitty job it is to move other people’s junk...

Yeah, that’s just the attitude he needs to be a lifetime failure. With his kind of motivation he won’t end up there.

Example: When I got out of the Air Force in late 1973 I was a Boeing 707 Captain/Instructor Pilot. There were no flying jobs to be had. I spent months working on a Lockheed Constellation as a mechanic. The thing hadn’t flown in years. As the bottom guy, I spent close to a month cleaning pigeon sh!t out of the wings and engine nacelles. Ended up as a senior Boeing 767 captain with a major airline.

That kid will do just fine. His biggest problem will be his gold toofed welfare neighbors telling him “He bees acktin’ white”. God bless him.
