A great question that remains to be answered is why there is only one common ancestor for all of life.

A better question would be "IS there only one common ancestor for all of life?". Perhaps organisms arose independently in different parts of the planet, either during a particular period of earth history, or over several periods.

You could probably get a lot of idiot liberals to wear that. Tell them plate tectonics causes climate change.

It is believed that the LUCA wasn’t the first life on Earth, but genetic study shows it evolved around a volcanic vent, and all life that we know evolved from it.

“Unlike people who sit in their chairs and criticize, they put a lot of work into it.”

Sorry, but it is worthless to just make the supposition that tectonic plates might have set the stage for life.

The article says the plate business resulted in nutrients for living things. I guess baby step 1 is to observe that, for the creation of life, there must be stuff present for the life to eat.

This all has nothing to do with how life was created.

Right, “In the beginning, GOD created the heavens and the earth,” Gen. 1:1.

God is supernatural, as such He can do miracles, of which anything on the large scale, like creating heaven and earth, is any harder for him than the virgin birth, healing someone, turning water into wine, etc.

Of which, the natural or carnal mind, the unbelieving mind, cannot accept...or believe. To them, only natural causes, evolution taking a gazillion years, could have brought the heaven and earth into being.

Christ prophesied of our day, with his second coming would be near, he asked, “When the Son of man cometh, will he find faith on the earth?”

I have no problem with the Creation taking billions of years, since God is eternal.

Also, here’s a planet covered mostly in water,
and we were created without gills! Is it just
bad planning or is it malicious?

It’s easy for you to think you have the answers while others work hard to find them.

“Astrobiology”: the only scientific specialty which is entirely free of data.

Differentials (environments) between ‘land’ and ‘water’ likely would increase the biolgical chemical mix/spectrum facilitating the formation of self replicating living matter.

The first living things (apparently) only happened after 500 billion years of the earth’s existence.

"More hogwash."

Not sure I agree.

Me and a bunch of friends used to sit around a get drunk and dream up stuff like this for hours. Great way to kill time.

Lol! True, except perhaps for microbes on the space station. Or human biology in space.

human biology in space

There is an absolutely huge amount of Earth-created (non-human) life remnants on both our Moon and Mars--ejected by 4 billion years of asteroid impacts on Earth; of course, the density is much higher per square kilometer on the much-nearer Moon. In fact, samples of very early Earth-life (±4 billion years old, pre- and mid-Late Heavy Bombardment) are only available there, because the LHB destroyed all Earth-life by causing the Earth's surface to melt repeatedly.

Of course, once NASA or the private launchers finally bother to look for and uncover this abundant evidence of early life, expect fantasists to ignore completely its Earth origins and claim it to be "astrobiological"! And astrobiology will finally have its first (false) data.
