Ramadan is not a national Holiday.....nor is it listed as such. I’ll eat whatever I want when I want and if it offends a muslim they can always go back to their home country.

Every time you pass a microwave, put in a bag of popcorn, press start and walk away.

I do NOT think people were eating in the library, I just think that is where the sign was.

We certainly were not allowed food or drink in the libraries.

Yep.

Libraries weren’t for eating.

But now that you bring it up, smelly food?

Exactly what sort of smelly?

Good smell, bad smell, burn your nose hairs smell? What?

What, pray tell, constitutes a smelly food?
Liver and onions?
Garlic chicken?
Limburger Cheese?
Oh! It must be the bbq pork sandwiches or the meat loaf wrapped with bacon.
(heavy sigh)

Tough stuff.

I fast on occasion for one reason or another. I do not ask others to starve because of me.

No one eats in a college library?

I worked for decades in libraries - public and college - and people *always* eat in them. University libraries began including cafes and eateries over a decade ago. The patrons aren’t supposed to take the food out of the eatery and into the stacks or computer areas, but they do.

Even before that, we found leftover food all over the place.

(Another myth about libraries is that they are quiet places. They may have been once, but most haven’t been for a very long time ;-)

How about Muslims not going to the library during Ramadan
and being repectful of other students eating their food?

“Good smell, bad smell, burn your nose hairs smell? What?”

We have a nice enough Indian (Asia) family living next to us. Around 4 pm every day though - the cooking smells are atrocious! Sometimes it even forces me from outside and back into the house.

I told my wife “Yeah - and the husband probably gets home from work, heads to the door and thinks ‘Yum - something smells good for dinner!’”

Brings back fond memories of young brother. He LOVED those, until he found what they were - actual pigs feet. LOL How about hogs head cheese? Never eaten because the name is such a stomach turner.

I spent some short time on the freeway today behind a halal foods truck, and suddenly thought of “Invasion Of The Body Snatchers”.
