Some years ago, a guy I used to work called in that he would be late due to car trouble.

He was driving to work in the dark on a not well-lighted road (and going very fast as was his habit) when he hit something, he assumed a small animal.

A bit later, his temp gauge went high and the engine started steaming, so he pulled into gas station. A guy there looked it over and finally said, "Your problem is that there's a dog's leg driven into your radiator."

The guy in this article almost had the same problem.
