It's almost as if there is some message from Soros or the DNC telling them to scale it back until after the November mid-terms or something.
Naw. Just a coincidence.
I remember hearing years ago that Seinfeld would no longer do shows on college campuses because the students were so easily offended & basically had no sense of humor. Can you imagine a show with those snowflakes??
I swear I havent seen that PR in ages.
But theyll still show the cigar-store Indian ep...man I love that.
That was just last year or so, and it made big news because it was itself offensive.
Just saw his act at Caesars Palace a couple of weeks ago. Zero politics, and funny as hell!
I find it revealing that Seinfeld refuses to play college campuses anymore. Joe Rogan made the same decision and was talking about it on his show. He said you can’t use any of your best material without offending someone so you have to water down your act and get a reputation for not being funny. Both agree that it just isn’t worth dealing with the PC nonsense to perform there. And neither of these performers are “conservative” by a long shot.

Yes, here it is for those who missed the news (that was about 3 years ago):

RE: Politics and comedy mix fine, many excellent comedians have stuck mostly to politics. But theres a method, you cant stick to one side, you always have to be willing to hit whoever is charge no matter youre opinion of them.

OK, tell me, is this scene from a 1940 Bob Hope film “The Ghost Breakers” ,considered funny or insulting to Democrats?
In the scene shown, Larry Lawrence (played by Bob Hope) and Mary Carter (played by Paulette Goddard) inquire of Geoff Montgomery (Richard Carlson) about the nature of creatures known as zombies, providing the set-up for a Bob Hope zinger:
See video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWpU8sX10_4
______________________________________
Lawrence: You live here?
Montgomery: Yes.
Lawrence: Then maybe you know what a zombie is
Montgomery: When a person dies and is buried, its seems there are certain voodoo priests who who have the power to bring him back to life.
Carter: How horrible!
Montgomery: Its worse than horrible because a zombie has no will of his own. You see them sometimes walking around blindly with dead eyes, following orders, not knowing what they do, not caring.
Lawrence: You mean like Democrats?
Many years ago I went to one of his anniversary shows in Burbank and we had a blast. Tom Hanks was on the show for Stupid Pet Tricks and it was one of the last performances from Stevie Ray Vaughan.
Haven’t like DL for quite a while. Cannot even stand the S.O.B. now.
That was a great one too. The sheer awkwardness of him trying to hit on that Native American girl while tripping all over himself was great.
“youre in that special .0000001%”
Seems like there are a few in every pop culture thread who need to let us know how special they are.
Maybe Seinfeld can speak for himself, but humor and laughter can easily help legitimize a viewpoint. Politics and comedy actually mix very well. Seinfeld has simply chosen to mix comedy with something else.
Me too! Disliked BOTH shows, Thought they were ridiculous and the public was under some kind of mass hypnosis in loving those mediocre shows. (everybody else loves it so i better too) syndrome.
I’m also left handed with blue eyes with some rare bone thingy in the roof of my mouth.
Man am i special!
“Seinfeld” was just that frigging awesome huh?
I must be a moron for not liking it huh?
Maybe i misread your post....sorry
Why let the cat out of the bag? Let the Left sink itself with its own crazy behavior.
He’s a smart businessman.
Best comedy on Netflix
“Jerry Before Seinfeld”
Chris Rock, as well. He used to rain hell on his own group as well as other groups, and it was a healing thing for all concerned. But the participation trophy generation can't take a joke.
It’s both. And the reason Hope could get away with it is there were republican jokes in other material. You can’t be a one sided guy in political material, for one set or movie maybe, but across the board no. Then you just become a tool. Also remember back then both sides were more civil, they could drink together.
