A tree taken from a World War I battlefield in France and planted during French President Emmanuel Macron’s state visit last week has disappeared from the White House lawn.
President Donald Trump, Macron, his wife Brigitte and Melania Trump all posed for photo ops on the south portion of the White House lawn last Monday as they used shovels to unearth a setting for the sapling. The gifted sessile oak tree originated from the site of the Battle of Belleau Wood in Belleau, France, in which American, French and other allied troops fought the Germans during World War One. But a Reuters photograph from Saturday shows the tree is no longer in place.

Apparently, no one was watching that area of the White House lawns. I would have thought a camera would have been recording in each direction throughout each day. I guess not.

When I first heard the story, I thought a better location would be a section of Arlington National cemetery that had dead from WW1.
I hope that if not at the White House it is given a great place to grow strong.

That seems like a reasonable assumption. Perhaps someone could ask the Whitehouse landscaping crew. Oh wait..it’s a weekend and no one is working. So let’s just run with the story.
The Company once knew where two Soviets sat outside for lunch when the weather was nice. It was in a fenced area they could not get to. They arranged for a bullet with a transmitter inside to be fired at the tree. Unfortunately the bark was too rough to amplify the sound and it never worked.
That would make sense putting it in quarantine.
