All fruit flies look pretty much the same to me, LOL, so hard to tell.

I read a story once long ago where they irradiated some fruit flies to make them sterile. Then they were going to release them in order to reduce the fruit fly population. All this cost a lot of money.

Unfortunately, they released the flies next to a house that had been freshly painted. The flies all went over to the house and got stuck on it.
