I’m not a CC expert so all I have to say if it would have been my daughter or granddaughter, I would have let a jury decide. At least my child or grandchild would have been safe, my fate is secondary.

The “smile” marks on his face: is that from spittle running down his cheeks when he was lying on the ground, out cold? Or is that a healed scar from a previous disfiguring knife fight?
